Dumb Bird Escapes: EMU Leads Police on 20 Mile Chase

Road runner! Hilarious video shows escaped EMU leading Tennessee police on 20 mile chase at speeds of up to 40mph after breaking free of his enclosure

  • MeeMoo cleared the fence of his enclosure with a seven-foot vertical leap and led police on an incredible 20-mile chase through a Tennessee town
  • Harry McKinney said his pet escaped on Wednesday after being spooked by construction workers logging behind his home
  • Police eventually surrounded the flightless bird, which had clocked speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, and MeeMoo made it back home safely

This is the incredible moment a pet emu led police on a bizarre 20-mile chase through a Tennessee town.

The flightless birds are famed for being one of the fastest animals on the planet and MeeMoo certainly lived up to the reputation as he clocked speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

Harry McKinney said the pet escaped from their farm in Roane County on Wednesday after being spooked by construction workers logging behind his home.

MeeMoo cleared the fence with a seven-foot vertical leap and took off running through the town of Harriman.

The Harriman Police Department quickly got involved and an incredible police chase developed over 20 miles before McKinney was able to bundle a tired MeeMoo into his truck.

McKinney did his best to follow the bird when it first escaped but he soon lost sight of it and posted an appeal on social media.

He was flooded with messages from residents who provided updates on MeeMoo's whereabouts throughout the neighborhood, which he was then feeding into the police.

McKinney told 6abc News: ‘I said “if you see my emu please let me know” and immediately we were flooded with private messages saying like “hey your emu is in my back yard” and all these videos.

‘The videos posted are pretty amazing to us but it is really the tip of the iceberg considering what is out there.

‘Everybody in the area got their own private video for this.

‘He went by a lot of the landmarks in town, he went to some popular restaurants, so it really appeared like he knew where he was going.’

A video of MeeMoo being tailed by four police cars as he ran on the road was captured by Steven McDaniel.

He said the chase caught the attention of customers at a restaurant who leapt out of their seats to watch the pursuit.

It started at 20 miles per hour but quickly progressed to speeds of 40 miles per hour.

McDaniel said: ‘The community coming together just for that few minutes was such a great thing to see last night.

‘There’s been a lot of comments about just how funny it was and you know everybody is wanting to meet MeeMoo now.

‘It was well worth it just to take a little video you know.’

MeeMoo was eventually surrounded by police and McKinney was finally able to collect his exhausted pet from a nearby Victorian home and got him into his truck with the help of a 'great friend'.

'We were terrified that he would get hit by a car and somebody would hit him with a tranquilizer dart, that he would hurt himself in the chase,' he added.

He later revealed on Thursday that his 'internet famous' emu escaped for a second but was quickly caught after an hour.

McKinney has now reinforced the fence and raised its height to nine feet.

Age 17: Uterus Fell Out at 3am (Uterine Prolapse, usually doesn't happen until age 70)

I broke wind and my uterus came out of my vagina - it felt like I was laying an egg

A TikToker revealed she farted and her uterus came out of her vagina before making it's own way back inside during the night.

She thought that she had farted out a penis.

Lauren, 18, who is believed to be from the US, took to her TikTok @fresnonightcrawler to explain the horrific incident.

In the video, which racked up over 2.7 million views, the teenager explained she had suffered a uterine prolapse which is rare for someone her age.

In the clip she said: 'So I was 17 and I farted really loud and it suddenly felt like I had laid an egg, like I was sitting on a tennis ball in my bed, like I was lying on top of one.

'I couldn't get comfortable and I'm walking around and I feel like something is, like did I sh**t myself? Like something is out.

'I can't figure out what it is and then I got to the bathroom and I look and I am like do I have a penis?

She continued: 'Turns out my uterus fell out, which doesn't usually happen until your in your mid 70s when your pelvic floor decides it has given up.

'Turns out when you push when you poop, it weakens your pelvic floor so much that your uterus could fall out or your rectum and you just have to stick it back in.'

Speaking to BuzzFeed she said: 'I took a photo and went to my mom's room to ask if she would take me to the hospital.

'At this point it was 3 a.m., and I was starting to freak out a bit. My mom said she would help me in the morning, and I went back to sleep. When I woke up around 10 a.m., it was back inside me. I had thought I dreamed it until I saw the photo I took.'

Lauren said her mother took her to the hospital that afternoon, however at that point she already knew it was a uterine prolapse after googling pictures of them.

It is possible for a mild to moderate prolapse to move back into the correct position on its own, although this usually doesn't happen so quickly as overnight.

In more severe cases, surgery is required to fix the problem.

In another video Lauren cleared up some frequently asked questions by her followers.

CAN YOUR UTERUS POKE OUT OF YOUR VAGINA?

Although it may sound bizarre, it is possible for the uterus - also known as the womb - to protrude from the vagina.

Uterine prolapse is when the organ slips towards, or into, the vagina. It is a common issue after childbirth and happens when pelvic floor muscles have weakened.

Getting older, being overweight and having a job that requires a lot of heavy lifting can also weaken the muscles supporting the uterus.

Figures suggest around a third of women will experience some sort of pelvic organ prolapse, which can also include the bladder or bowel.

Data does not exist to make clear how common it is for the uterus to end up protruding out of the vagina.

However, the NHS says 'feeling or seeing a bulge or lump in or coming out of your vagina' is a symptom of pelvic organ prolapse.

She explained her prolapse was caused by 'intestinal issues' that she was experiencing and that when she went to the hospital.

'I went to the ER and they did an exam and sent me to a really awful gynecologist who denied my uterus fell out, even though I had a photo,' she said.

The nurses were shocked and laughed along with her as they helped her get it all the way back in.

The teenger also said it 'wasn't painful' and it was unlikely to happen to anyone else under the age of 70.

Many rushed to the comments in horror of Lauren's terrifying ordeal which many saying they were now worried of flatulence.

One person said: 'Wait so now I have to worry about my uterus falling out naturally when I'm old?.'

Another wrote: 'Now I'm gonna be overthinking every fart.'

Experts suggest kegel exercises or pelvic floor therapy to help strengthen the muscles in that area.

Iran Hanged 582 Prisoners in 2022 ... "We're Number One!"

Iran hanged at least 582 prisoners in 2022 - up 75% in a year - using its 'execution machine' to spread fear among protesters

  • There were at least 582 executions in Iran last year - the highest since 2015
  • Authorities cracked down on those protesting against death of Mahsa Amini
  • Amini died in custody after being arrested for allegedly breaching dress code

Human rights groups have condemned Iran's 'execution machine' which is spreading fear among protesters after revealing at least 582 prisoners were hanged in 2022.

The shocking new figures show Iran hanged 75 per cent more people in 2022 than the year before, according to the report by Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHR) and Paris-based Together Against the Death Penalty (ECPM).

The figure of 582 executions is well above the 333 carried out in 2021.

Protests and riots have engulfed Iran since 22-year-old ethnic Kurd Mahsa Amini died in police custody in Tehran in September 2022. She had been arrested for allegedly breaching the country's strict dress codes for women.

The Iranian state has sparked outrage both nationally and internationally for its barbaric response to protesters in which four men were hanged in protest-related cases.

IHR director Mahmood Amiry Moghaddam said that while the international outcry was keeping protest-related executions in check, Iran was pressing ahead with executions on other charges to intimidate the general population.

'The international reactions to the death sentences against protesters have made it difficult for the Islamic Republic to proceed with their executions,' he said.

'To compensate, and in order to spread fear among people, the authorities have intensified the execution for non-political charges. These are the low-cost victims of the Islamic Republic's execution machine.'

The damning report said that after the four men were executed on charges related to the protests, one hundred more protesters still risked execution after being sentenced to death or facing charges that carry the death penalty.

Earlier this month, horrifying footage showed a man pouring yoghurt over the heads of two Iranian women who entered a shop without wearing hijabs. They were then arrested for flouting the country's strict dress code.

And last month, rights group Amnesty International reported that children as young as 12 have been subjected to rape, electrocution and flogging for their involvement in the nationwide protests.

The latest report on executions has also expressed alarm over a sharp rise in the number of drug-related hangings after the protests erupted.

More than half of those executed after the start of the protests, and 44 percent of the 582 executions recorded in 2022, were on drug-related charges.

A female Iranian woman holds up a shirt for Amini during one of Iran's World Cup fixtures in Qatar in December

This was a more than double the number in 2021, and ten times higher than the number of drug-related executions in 2020, it said.

A fall in the number of drug-related executions - driven by 2017 amendments to the anti-narcotics law - had been behind a drop in the overall number of executions in Iran up to 2021.

The rights groups lamented what they said was a lack of reaction from the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) and its donor states to this 'dramatic surge'.

'Lack of reaction by the UNODC and donor countries to the reversal of these reforms (of 2017) sends the wrong signal to the Iranian authorities,' ECPM director Raphael Chenuil-Hazan said.

The report said members of the mainly Sunni Muslim Baluch minority accounted for 30 percent of all executions across the country, while only representing 2-6 per cent of Iran's population.

The numbers of ethnic minority Kurds and Arabs executed were also disproportionate, especially for drug crimes, the report said.

'The death penalty is part of the systematic discrimination and extensive repression ethnic minorities of Iran are subjected to,' it said.

The most executions - 288, or 49 percent of all executions - were for murder charges, the highest in more than 15 years, it said.

Two people, including protester Majidreza Rahnavard, were hanged in public, the report said. At least three juvenile offenders were among those executed while at least 16 women were hanged.

 Chocolate Fudge Walnut Puddles

by Lisa Starr, Meatland

https://www.meatland.net/

These Chocolate Walnut Fudge Puddles could also be called Chocolate Miracle Cookies as they really are made in the most miraculous way. They contain no matzo meal or potato flour, no oil or butter, and they are simply stirred together with a spoon.Highly adaptable, they can include nuts or chocolate chips, but are also mouth-wateringly delicious when made without additions.

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups powdered sugar¾ cup cocoa1 teaspoon coffee granules (like Nescafe)1/2 teaspoon salt½ cup chopped toasted walnuts (optional)3 large egg whites

Directions:

1: Whisk the egg whites with a fork till frothy and combine dry ingredients in a bowl.2: Add dry ingredients to the egg whites and mix then spoon onto paper-lined trays with space between as they spread a lot. Don’t worry about the shape you make when you spoon out mixture as it spread into a perfect round.3: Bake at 180 C for 15 - 17 minutes then allow to cool completely – can speed up in the freezer – before removing from tray. If they appear to still be sticking to the paper then return to oven for a few minutes but don’t over-bake. You want them chewy inside.

ENJOY!
