Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1 heaped tablespoon flour
Approximately 3/4 to 1 cup of milk
1 cup grated yellow cheese*
Salt & pepper to taste
4 sliced, boiled eggs to serve
* White or orange cheddar is fabulous here but any full flavored cheese - will do.
- Directions
- 1: Melt butter in a small pot, add flour, and stir for a couple of minutes on medium-heat till flour is absorbed.
2: Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, till slightly thickened and smooth.
3: Add grated cheese, stir till melted and sauce is a reasonably thick consistency, then season with salt and black pepper.
4: Reduce heat to low, add sliced, boiled eggs and allow them to warm up briefly, then spoon onto toast or simply enjoy straight up.
Cooks Notes: You have to adjust quantities according to how many people to serve. As long as you keep a balance, it should work out.
