Three farm attacks occurred within 24 hours in the Free State, this makes it clear once again that rural security is not a priority for the ANC government.

In the latest incident, Christiaan van Tonder, a young farmer from Lindley, was killed. This follows shortly after an attack on the Venter family from Bothaville on the night of 29 November 2021 and the farm murder of Johan Prinsloo from Koppies.

Thanks to good cooperation between the community, the police and security networks, suspects linked to some of the attacks have been arrested.

To combat this type of crime, it is important that the police’s Koppies is implemented effectively and that police stations are equipped with the necessary resources.

The FF Plus once again makes a serious appeal to farmers and rural communities to put in place security mechanisms to ensure their safety.

The party will, where possible, provide assistance in locating the culprits to ensure that justice is done for the victims.

The FF Plus expresses its sincere condolences to the victims’ family and loved ones and wishes the Venter family a speedy recovery.
