MSNBC host Joy Reid claims Americans had NEVER heard the word 'inflation' before

MSNBC host Joy Reid claims Americans had NEVER heard the word 'inflation' until the GOP 'taught it to them' - as it rises to 40 year high under Biden

  • Days ahead of the midterm, the MSNBC host said that GOP operatives and politicos had 'taught' US voters the term inflation ahead of the election
  • Reid claimed that the term is not a part of the lexicon of everyday Americans, despite the figure rising to a four-decade high during the Biden presidency
  • Inflation, which hit 8.2% in September and was higher the month before that, is impacting the ability of many Americans to provide for their families

Controversial MSNBC host Joy Reid has claimed that the word 'inflation' is not a standard part of the 'normal lexicon' of Americans, and that most people using it learned it from political operatives during this midterm cycle.

Speaking with her network colleague Nicole Wallace, Reid said the 'only people I've ever heard use the word inflation are journalists and economists.'

The progressive host added that most people have 'never used that word ever in their lives' prior to this election cycle, in which Republicans are heavily favored for several reasons including the bleak economic forecast and rising cost of household goods.

While Reid - host of 'The ReidOut' - argued that Republicans have 'taught people the world inflation,' polls ahead of Tuesday's election have consistently shown that voters' top concerns include inflation, the economy in general and crime.

Inflation has hit a 40-year-high in the US, placing many Americans in dire financial situations as they struggle to afford rent, basic utilities and food for their families. But Reid chose to dismiss the concept and, in particular, the word as an elitist economic concept that would never make it into the minds or mouths of everyday Americans without the pushing of GOP politicos.

The September inflation rate hit 8.2%, a figure that the Biden administration called 'progress.' October's inflation rate will be announced on November 10.

MSNBC host Joy Reid said that Republicans have taught Americans the word inflation ahead of this year's midterm and would not otherwise be a part of the lexicon of everyday people

MSNBC host Joy Reid said that Republicans have taught Americans the word inflation ahead of this year's midterm and would not otherwise be a part of the lexicon of everyday people

Wallace was perfectly happy to parrot former President Barack Obama's campaign trail talking points as Democrats close in on what could be a bloody Tuesday evening.

Despite the serious financial predicament many Americans find themselves in due to soaring inflation numbers and a generally downturned economy, Reid's take on the issue is that 'it's interesting that Republicans are doing something they don’t normally do, which is not use the common tongue, not use just common English like they sort of do on their campaigns like they do with crime.'

Despite her claim that inflation is a term used only by high-minded reporters and economists, the pundit did mention that the state where she resides, Florida, has become increasingly expensive.

'My family moved here because it was an affordable place to buy a house. No more. It's now more expensive to buy in Miami than it is in New York, ' she said.

MSNBC: Republicans Invented Inflation

Republicans “taught people the word inflation."

On the heels of New York Democrats blaming Mayor Eric Adams for convincing people that crime exists, we’ve got MSNBC’s Joy Reid trying to blame Republicans for inventing inflation.

What you’re seeing here is a movement that has completely lost the argument and decided to just take one look at reality and jump out of the plane without a parachute on.

We’re way beyond Peter Jennings claiming that voters threw a tantrum or Van Jones’ ‘Whitelash’.

Having lost the argument on crime and inflation, the Left has decided to double down on these being imaginary problems invented by Republicans. And then claiming that Republicans have brilliantly convinced people that crime and inflation are things that actually exist.

Joy Reid, who was born in 1968, which means that she was a kid, but still around the last time inflation went stratospheric, pretends that Republicans somehow taught people the word ‘inflation’ and then people are ignorantly using the word to describe all sorts of prejudices and problems.

The Democrats should be sharpening their argument in the final stretch of the midterms, instead, they’ve decided to go full Iraqi Information Minister on the problem.

But then again this SNL Carter parody is now the actual political program of California Democrats.

Also apparently Republicans taught the word inflation to Saturday Night Live and Dan Ackroyd.

'We can't deny our history': Mexico builds museum dedicated to the history of drug trafficking

'We can't deny our history': Mexican city mayor is building a $764,000 museum dedicated to the history of drug trafficking - featuring notorious cartel bosses El Chapo, Felix Gallardo and Caro Quintero

  • A museum is currently under construction in the western Mexico city of Badiraguato is expected to have exhibits centered around drug traffickers
  • The Sinaloa municipality is the birthplace of Guadalajara Cartel founders Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, Rafael Caro Quintero
  • Sinaloa Cartel former boss Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán was also born in Badiraguato
  • Mayor Mayor José Luis López Elenes told local news  outlet Noticiero Altavoz that the city has to 'recognize' it's troubled drug trafficking past

The mayor of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán's hometown is building a new museum that will have exhibitions that will pay homage to some of Mexico's most notorious drug traffickers.

Badiraguato Mayor José Luis López Elenes said that while the goal of the museum is to spark interest the western Mexican city's tourism industry, it was impossible to exclude the troubled past of El Chapo and his old associates.

'We cannot deny our history,' López Elenes told local outlet Noticiero Altavoz on Tuesday. 'We have to recognize it and we are going to work on that basis. It is possible that we can have drug trafficking museum.'

Groundbreaking for the new museum, which is part of an economic redevelopment plan, took place in May.

Badiraguato Mayor José Luis López Elenes said his city has to come to terms with the troubled past that has marked it as he met with the press Tuesday and revealed plans of a new museum that will have exhibits that will tell the story of the drug trade

The Sinaloa state government set aside around $730,000 to fund the cost of the construction of the museum, which is set to be completed in December.

The building features columns at the entrance and is located on top of a hill. It will be 116 square meters and the ceiling is 22 feet high.

Local press has reported that the museum will exhibit photographs and other objects of Badiraguato native sons who helped shaped the transnational drug trafficking business.

Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, Rafael Caro Quintero and Juan José 'El Azul' Esparragoza all played a pivotal role in the creation of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1970s.

Gallardo, who is known as 'The Boss of the Bosses' and 'The Godfather,' was jailed for the 1985 kidnapping and killing of DEA agent Kiki Camarena.

A court sentenced the 76-year-old to 40 years in prison in 1989 for crimes that included racketeering, firearms possession and bribery. However, it wasn't until 2017 that a court found him guilty of the special agent's murder and handed him a 37-year sentence.

In September, a Mexican federal court approved Gallardo's remaining sentence to be served in the confines of his residence because of his poor health.

Mexican drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero (center) was arrested by security forces in Sinaloa on July 15.  He now awaits extradition to the United States, where he is accused of killing DEA agent Kiki Camarena in 1985

Caro Quintero was apprehended in July after almost 10 years on the run. The 69-year-old is also accused with the killing and kidnaping of Camarena.

He was released from in August 2013, after 28 years in prison, when a court overturned his 40-year sentence Camarena's murder, which marked a low point in US-Mexico relations. The Supreme Court upheld the sentence five days following his release.

El Chapo worked under the Guadalajara drug trafficking network before he ventured off with El Azul to form the Sinaloa Cartel alongside Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada.

El Chapo is currently serving a life sentence in the United States and El Azul died of an alleged a heart attack following after surviving 2014 car crash.

Mayor López Elenes hopes the museum will help 'overcome this stigma of drug trafficking by pushing economic development to favor the municipality.'

Right Wins, Left Loses in Israel (Daniel Greenfield article)

Right Wins, Left Loses in Israel

First up is another effort to roll back the unelected tyranny of the Supreme Court.

I’m not Netanyahu’s biggest fan, but even in a political system where no one seems to ever leave politics permanently, he pulled off yet a third comeback.

The first time around, he seemed to be politically dead in the water after the Rabin assassination was falsely blamed on Israeli conservatives. The second time, after being quickly ousted by Clinton’s operatives and seemingly being consigned to the political wilderness by a new system, he made a comeback and had an enduring tenure.

Now after repeated elections and massive dysfunction, Bibi’s back with what looks to be a stronger coalition and a badly battered Left.

The good isn’t hard to see. Especially after the caretaker government of Yair Lapid cut a deal to hand over a chunk of Israel’s energy industry to Hezbollah. Anything was better than the insane coalition of fake centrists, leftists, Islamists and anti-religious fanatics who governed before.

Netanyahu is better than that. Unfortunately, he also has a long history of talking tough and doing nothing. As a peacetime prime minister, he’s been a good one. Israel’s economy mostly prospered, until the recent state of disaster. Reporters talked to Arab Muslims who voted for Netanyahu’s Likud party because they remembered prices being better and the economy looking brighter under him.

And Netanyahu’s ad campaign hammered home economic issues with clever ads that had him chatting with ordinary Israelis one-on-one about their problems. (Looking at Israeli election ads, American ads feel surprisingly lame and badly done.)

The existential stuff that Americans know Netanyahu for is another issue. And when it comes to that, he tends to be mostly talk.

But Israeli is a parliamentary democracy. And beyond giving him a governing coalition, this has been a sizable victory for the Right and a severe defeat for the Left.

As of now, with over 90% of the votes counted, Meretz and Balad aren’t making it into the Israel Knesset. Meretz, a radical leftist party, not even sitting in the Knesset is historic. Labor, the establishment leftist party, took another severe electoral beating. At 4 seats, it’s one of the smallest parties in the Knesset and barely made it past the electoral ‘threshold’.

While a handful of idiots still voted for Shaked’s Bayit Yehudi, a party that started with patriotic promise before betraying its voters and the country, it failed to pass. But in its place, the Religious Zionist Party, has scored a massive victory. And if it can, unlike its predecessors, leverage that to make real changes instead of falling into infighting, that could be truly meaningful.

First up is another effort to roll back the unelected tyranny of the Supreme Court.

Passing legislation enabling the Knesset to override High Court rulings is a top priority for the far-right Religious Zionism party, two of its incoming MKs said Wednesday.

Amichay Eliyahu, number nine on the Religious Zionism-Otzma Yehudit joint slate, told The Times of Israel that the party was determined to “restore democracy,” which he said had been “seized by a small group of people” in the judicial system.

K Simcha Rothman said there would be no justification for a right-wing government if it did not succeed in passing such a law.

The Religious Zionism-Otzma Yehudit alliance made passing a High Court override law a central pillar of its manifesto during the campaign. Such a bill would allow the Knesset to re-legislate a law that the High Court strikes down as incommensurate with Israel’s Basic Laws.

Rothman — along with party leaders MK Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir — strongly opposes the principle of judicial review, whereby the High Court can annul legislation passed by a majority in the Knesset.

All true. And vital to restoring some kind of democracy instead of a branja oligarchy.

Remember, this was why Netanyahu was ousted using a phony scandal to begin with.

In a recent op-ed, Caroline Glick discusses the transcript of Israel’s Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit discussing his decision to indict former prime minister Binyomin Netanyahu. The tape was either from a private briefing of sympathetic reporters at Ha’aretz or a talk to prosecutors in the State Attorney’s office. But in either case, it is clear that Mandelblit wanted it disseminated.

According to Mandelblit, Netanyahu “constituted a danger to democracy.” The specific threat, as outlined by Mandelblit, was that Netanyahu intended to change the system of judicial appointments and limit the power of the attorney-general.

Far from upholding Israeli democracy, it would appear from Mandelblit’s comments that it was he, and not Netanyahu, who threatens Israeli democracy. Philosophical differences over the proper method of appointing justices to the Supreme Court or on the powers of the attorney-general should not serve as the basis of a criminal indictment. And that is especially so when it is Israel’s current system of judicial appointment and the powers of the attorney-general which are glaring exceptions among with world’s democracies.

Mandelblit firmly placed himself in a long line of attorney-generals who have viewed their task as protecting from oversight the legal establishment – Supreme Court justices, the state attorney’s office, and the police – popularly known as the Branja. The most glaring example of the phenomenon was former Attorney-General Michael Ben-Yair’s decision to prosecute Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman shortly after his appointment.

The founder of Israel’s leading law firms and a prominent law professor, Neeman represented an unprecedented threat to the ruling clique in the State Attorney’s office. He was both one of Israel’s sharpest legal minds and not a member of the Branja.

As reported in Yediot Acharonot, shortly after Neeman’s appointment, Ben-Yair convened a meeting of top prosecutors in which he promised to make sure the new “dog” did not leave deep scratches on the furniture. The identity of the “dog” was made clear by Ben-Yair’s reading of a satiric article about the practices of religious Jews. Neeman was an observant Jew.

So a new government would be potentially another round in the struggle by Israelis to reclaim their country from the corrupt mafia that used the likes of Yair Lapid, Israel’s Trudeau, as their front man.

Post-Nut Syndrome: Male "Secret" Women Don't Know About

The little-known and 'mortifying' male sex secret causing heartbreak in the bedroom - and it's happened to almost all of us, writes JANA HOCKING

  • Jana Hocking recently stumbled upon a sexual phenomenon involving men
  • The common condition sees men lose interest in a women after climaxing
  • Men claim they have no idea they're disinterested in a girl until right after sex
  • They believe they're 'tricked by genetics' and then 'feel like an a**hole' after

Men have gotten into trouble for making decisions based on which way their penises turned throughout history.

We've seen politicians named and shamed for out-of-office shenanigans. We've seen young, unqualified women promoted to the top because the boss took a fancy to them. We've seen married celebrities get publicly outed for sending saucy texts to influencers on Instagram.

When it comes to making decisions, the history books don't lie. Many men have let their ol' fellas lead the way. It's no secret.

So when I found out about another interesting fact about men and their organ that genuinely left me shook, I had to find out more.

Enter Post-Nut Syndrome.

'When I found out about another interesting fact about men and their organ that genuinely left me shook, I had to find out more,' Jana said

Joe Rogan had comedian Adam Schultz on his podcast and they were having an old fashioned locker room chat about sex when the topic of 'Post-Nut Syndrome' came up.

What's that you say?

Well Urban Dictionary defines it as: A slang word for post-coital tristesse [sadness]. An issue that has been plaguing men since the dawn of time. It's the feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, empathy, regret, etc, that one gets after climaxing. Normally the condition is more severe depending on the sexual circumstances. It is caused by a decrease in dopamine receptors immediately after ejaculation.

Or as Joe and Andrew put it:

Joe: 'It's like when ya d**k tricked ya into f**king this girl you've been trying to avoid and then you come and you're like f**k! Women will never understand Post-Nut-Syndrome.

Andrew: 'Like I don't know if I like you until I come. And that's why it's so f**ked up, like when women think we are f**k boys or we're pieces of s**t as dudes, but you don't get it – I think I like you, everything I say to you I believe, and my d**k is just like 'yeah we'll find out'.'

Joe:  'Yeah you realise you made a mistake, especially if the woman is really into you, and you're really not into her and you're like 'oh I made an error' and then you do feel like an a**hole, but I'm just being honest. I got tricked by genetics!'

Every bloke I asked confessed they had experienced it before. One guy said he experienced last weekend when he slept with a girl for the first time since his break up [stock image]

Tracey Cox: The warning signs your sex life is in trouble

Sex feels like a chore

If sex has morphed from something you looked forward to, to something you now dread, you don't need me to tell you something is awry. I'm not talking about the occasional 'Do we have to?' - that's normal. No-one's keen to have sex all the time. It's feeling weary at the prospect of ALL sex sessions. Seeing it as something to tick off the 'to do' list, rather than a source of pleasure and connection.

You don't masturbate

Statistics tell us that, globally, men tend to masturbate 140 times a year or 2.6 times a week. Women masturbate an average of 53 times a year, which is about once a week. There are so many reasons why everyone should masturbate regularly. First up and most crucially, it's how we learn what arouses us and what technique works to make us climax.

Having regular orgasms reminds us how good sex feels, making us more likely to seek out sex with our partners. Physically, orgasms are good for you because they increase blood flow, improve circulation and heart health, reduce stress and promote feelings of well-being.

You don't plan sexual treats

It might be new lingerie. A sex toy. A weekend away in a hotel with making love given top priority.

You might watch a movie or TV show with sex scenes you know you'll both enjoy. Try something you've always wanted to. Have a bath with a glass of champagne, before heading to bed for a leisurely sex session. Sexual treats are things you do together to celebrate sex: turn it into an event. A way of showing each other that sex is something you treasure and look forward to; sensuality is different than sexuality.

Like, what the heck?

So let me get this straight, there are men out there who get swayed by their horniness and it's not until they've done the deed that they know whether they are into you or not?

I am lucky enough to know a lot of fab gents, so I decided to ask around. Is this common? Horrifyingly, the answer is a big YES.

Every bloke I asked confessed they had experienced it before. One guy said he experienced last weekend when he slept with a girl for the first time since his break up. He was desperate to get over the ex and jumped in bed with the first girl to make eyes at him.

He said it was great for the three minutes it lasted, but as soon as he was done he couldn't get out of there quick enough. Said he sent his ex a grovelling message during the Uber ride home to tell her he missed her.

I am lucky enough to know a lot of fab gents, so I decided to ask around. Is this common? Horrifyingly, the answer is a big YES.

I am lucky enough to know a lot of fab gents, so I decided to ask around. Is this common? Horrifyingly, the answer is a big YES.

Others said they experienced it on boy's trips, during their university days and during boozy nights out - basically anywhere. Yes ladies, any one of us could have slept with a guy who has experienced it.

Now, as an overthinking female, I've already figured out if I want to be with you or not, include an orgasm and I'm literally yours for life. And that's not just me being needy, it's actually science.

Yes, women have been found to release an attachment bond when they climax. The brain releases oxytocin (known as the love hormone), a neurochemical which is so strong it's capable of relieving pain, decreasing stress and fostering feelings of closeness. It's what creates that mushy feeling after you've done the deed. You know the one, where you just want to snuggle and bask in the lovey dovey-ness.

No wonder us women are picking out bridal dresses and names for our not-yet-born children after one date. It's science.

Others said they experienced it on boy's trips, during their university days and during boozy nights out - basically anywhere. Yes ladies, any one of us could have slept with a guy who has experienced it

And yet… here I am finding out men relate very differently to that first night of nakedness?

It made me take a deep dive into my past relationships. The most recent one is heavenly. A great time had by all underneath the sheets and then an hour or so of backrubs and sharing stories that make us laugh till we cry.

The one before that though…. Ooft. We had nothing in common, but both physically fancied the pants of each other. All was going well until we finally succumbed to hormones and it was the opposite of fireworks. It was like a malfunctioned sparkler.

You're halfway through singing happy birthday and the sparkling stick decides it's had enough and puts itself out before you're even up to Hip Hip Hooray!

I distinctly remember him jumping out of bed and chugging a bottle of water while I hastily looked for my bra in the dark.

Upon reflection… the bloke had a serious case of 'Post-Nut Syndrome'. Mortifying!
