As is by now abundantly clear from the pro-Hamas rallies we have seen all over, the left loves jihadis, and this love is longstanding. Today’s global crisis, however, is bringing a new clarity to what exactly the left has been supporting, and it isn’t really “diversity” and “inclusion,” much less “tolerance” or “peace.” Vogue cover model Ahed Tamimi is a chilling case in point.

Back in October 2018, Vogue Arabia, the Dubai-based Arab edition of the venerable fashion magazine, published a piece ostensibly written by Ahed Tamimi, a Palestinian teenager who was seventeen years old at the time: “Occupied Childhood: Ahed Tamimi Pens a Heartfelt Letter About Life in and After Prison.” The editor’s note was worshipful: “In a heartfelt letter, 17-year-old Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi tells the story of her arrest and eight months in an Israeli prison – and the struggles she faces as a symbol of resistance.”

Tamimi herself, or her ghostwriter, sounded a plaintive note about how wonderful her life would be if it weren’t for those terrible Israelis: “I want to be a regular 17-year-old. I like clothes, I like makeup.” Accompanying the article is a stylishly black-and-white glamor shot of Tamimi, her hair blowing in the wind; she is a bit too chunky to be a classic model, but hey, these are the days of “body positivity.” The poor victim continued, “I get up in the morning, check my Instagram, have breakfast, and walk in the hills around the village. Sometimes I go to Ramallah with friends to go bowling, eat ice cream, and go to restaurants – but I am not a normal teenager. Both my parents have been in jail, as have I, and now my eldest brother, Waed, is imprisoned too.”

Tamimi doesn’t mention it, but her father was convicted in 2012 of exhorting young people to throw stones at Israeli troops. Her brother was convicted in August 2018, two months before his sister became a Vogue heroine, of actually throwing stones at Israeli troops. Ahed doesn’t mention the most famous member of her family, her aunt Ahlam Tamimi, who helped murder sixteen Israeli civilians at the Sbarro pizza parlor in Jerusalem on Aug. 9, 2001. Ahlam received multiple life sentences from an Israeli court for her role in that massacre, but was freed in 2011 as part of the prisoner exchange for an Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit. She then went to Jordan, where she became a media personality and a national hero. Jordan has refused all extradition requests from the United States, where she is on the FBI Most Wanted list because Americans were among those killed in her attack.

In Vogue, however, Ahed Tamimi did her best to portray herself as just a regular teenage girl, albeit one who happened to be the victim of a cruel military machine: “If I were permitted to be a regular teenager living in a normal country, I would play sports. I wanted to become a football player but I don’t play here because there is no time. Instead, I have been involved in demonstrations and confrontations with the Israeli army since I was a child. Many criticize that, but why not criticize the army who places itself in front of children? Under the occupation, everything is a crime. People should not accuse us; it is the occupation that is wrong.”

There isn’t actually any occupation, but Ahed Tamimi’s ardor for the cause remains undimmed. Five years after her Vogue glamor shot, she published this message in Hebrew and Arabic on her Instagram page: “Our message to the settlers: (We) are waiting for you in all the cities of the West Bank, from Hebron to Jenin. We will slaughter you and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke. We will drink your blood and eat your skull. Come on, we’re waiting for you.”

This is the kind of person the left celebrates, and why not? Lenin said it: “You have to break eggs in order to make an omelet,” and Islamic jihadis in Gaza and all over the world couldn’t agree more. It is now undeniable that the left is not, contrary to its own claims, the party of love, tolerance, inclusion, and all that, but of drinking blood and eating skulls. The question is not why Vogue Arabia ever featured a bloodthirsty savage such as Ahed Tamimi, but why the other editions of Vogue haven’t lionized her as well. They’ll get around to it in due time.

The company used the event to show off future products.

Mr Hanley told journalists hybrid vehicles were 'a better fit' for Australian motorists.

'What battery electric vehicle do we have right now on sale in Australia that can tow 2.5 tonnes for 600km? We don’t. It doesn’t exist.

'If we just move to only zero-emission vehicles, what are you going to tell the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Australians who tow caravans, who use their cars for work, who need their cars on the land, who need their cars in the mine, who need more than a 200 or 300km range?'

He said hybrid vehicles were a practical technology for now.

He argued Toyota could make more hybrid vehicles with the same materials used to create one electric car, that EVs were 'powered, in many cases, by electricity generated from coal' and that they remained 'impractical' for drivers.

Figures from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries show Toyota remains the top-selling brand in Australia.

Toyota and Hyundai have partnered to expand the number of hydrogen refuelling stations in Australia and boost popularity of renewable energy.

Four companies, including the automakers, Ampol and Pacific Energy, announced the deal on Tuesday, revealing plans to share expertise and build hydrogen infrastructure in Canberra.

Toyota and Hyundai are the only companies to have released hydrogen fuel-cell cars in Australia - the Mirai sedan and NEXO SUV.

The announcement also came as the Australian Renewable Energy Agency revealed it had approved record funding during the last financial year for projects including hydrogen infrastructure.

Ampol chief executive Matt Halliday said the four companies had signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop hydrogen projects to support vehicles in the nation's capital.

"The (deal) establishes a collaborative working relationship between the parties who are all required to develop the necessary hydrogen ecosystem to make hydrogen use as a transport feasible."

Hyundai deployed 23 hydrogen-fuelled vehicles in Canberra as part of a deal with the ACT government in 2021, making it the first hydrogen car fleet in Australia.

Toyota has been trialling its Mirai line of hydrogen fuel-cell cars in Australia since 2018 and offers the vehicles on extended lease in Victoria, where the company operates its own refuelling station.

Toyota Australia president Matthew Callachor said the automaker was committed to developing hydrogen as an alternative energy source.

"This month we announced plans to locally assemble and distribute the EODev GEH2 fuel-cell generator in Australia and this joint collaboration announced today provides further opportunities to explore and grow this vital technology," he said.

The latest partnership follows several recent announcements for hydrogen technology, including BP's launch of the first hydrogen facility at a service station in August and Ampol's deal with US firm OneH2 to develop more refuelling stations.

It also comes after record funding from ARENA, which on Tuesday revealed it had approved $544.1 million to 60 projects during the last financial year.

Hydrogen projects to receive funding included a $50 million investment in the HyGATE Initiative to develop pilots in hydrogen supply, and $50 million in research and development projects.

A leader of a 5,000-strong migrant caravan heading towards the U.S. border has claimed that Latin American nations are 'ganging up' on the Biden administration and creating artificial problems, in order to extract money from Washington DC.

Irineo Mujica, a U.S. citizen who describes himself as a human rights defender, told Real America's Voice he was 'shocked' that Joe Biden was being played by Mexico's president and other regional leaders, and said the White House 'has a lot to learn'.

Mujica repeatedly said Biden has 'dropped the ball', and said he preferred Donald Trump because his policy on the border was clear.

'This is being used by the countries to make sure they get what they want from the United States,' said Mujica. 

'I am completely stunned. Joe Biden has lost the ball. Where is the American intelligence?

'Don't they know all the countries are conspiring against the United States to make sure they have this crisis be made?

'They make the baby, now they try to sell it.'

A caravan of 5,000 migrants departed from the southern Mexican border city of Tapachula on Monday to make their way to the northern border region across from the United States 

The migrants left Tapachula and traveled nine miles to the city of Alvaro Obregón, where they slept Monday night and departed early Tuesday morning in hopes of walking about 15 more miles

Migrants from Central America, Venezuela, Cuba and Haiti initiated the trek on Monday after they had grown frustrated with the long wait times the Mexican government was taking.

They had been waiting to process their refugee or exit visa applications at the main immigration processing center in the Chiapas town of Tapachula, near the Guatemala border.

Mexico's National Migration Institute, which is tasked with approving or denying the applications, has been backed up with requests.

Migrants normally wait weeks or months to have their status legalized, which allows them to work and move freely in the country.

But on Monday they set off without the paperwork, hoping to reach the border and claim asylum.

The march is said to be the largest since June 2022 when 6,000 people, many from Venezuela, took off from Tapachula.

Mujica, who was accompanying them, claimed that Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Mexico's president, was complicit in the chaos.

'I am a human rights defender for almost 70 years and I have not seen it worse,' he said.

'This is not normal. This is being used by the countries to make sure they get what they want from the United States.'

He said the Latin American nations were 'transporting people, letting people in', as a way to get money from the United States to deal with the situation.

Mujica said he crossed with a group of people through the Darien Gap, the treacherous stretch of jungle separating Colombia and Panama, and the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, turned a blind eye.

He claimed the government was in cahoots with the drug cartels to profit from the migration.

'All those people went through, and after that every country has been just providing them rights, charging them $20, $30 or $40, and then just pushing them in, pushing them in, all the way to the Mexican border,' he said.

'And then when you get to the Mexican border, you don't have mass deportation.'

Mujica said the Latin American governments 'weaponize' the migrants, releasing or holding them at will to extract money from Washington.

'As an American citizen I would say: do not give Mexico or any of those countries that completely responsible, any money. Give them zero cents.'

He added: 'It's not humane what they are doing.

'Because they are charging that blood, of the migrants, to the United States.

'Definitely Joe Biden has lost the ball - he has a lot to learn.

'I think the policies of Joe Biden are worse than Donald Trump, as Trump at least knew what to say to stop immigration.

'He has lost all the respect of countries.

'Obrador can pull them in and get what he wants from the United States.'

Single adults and family units were seen traveling along the highway on Monday as police served as escorts.

The group stopped traveled close to nine miles, reaching the municipality of Alvaro Obregón, where they camped out overnight, according to Mújica.

They were back on the road on Tuesday by 5am and planned to advance another 15 miles, according to Univision. 

Venezuelan national Daniel González said that he had been on the road for three months and is not planning on returning because of the dire economic situation back home.

The latest caravan of about 5,000 is said to be the largest since 6,000 people, mostly Venezuelans left Tapachula in June 2022

Oscar Gutiérrez also abandoned Venezuela with his wife and two daughters and hopes Biden will allow them to resettle there.

'In Venezuela things are very tough, we can't live with the money we get, it's not enough for us, and that's why we're going to the United States,' he said.

'We're going to keep going,' he said. 'In Tapachula, nobody helps us.'

Honduras native Leonel Olveras said: 'The don't give out papers here. They ask us to wait for months. It's too long.'

Migrants haven grown tired of having to wait weeks or months to have their refugee or visa applications approved by Mexico's immigration agency

Some of the migrants in Tapachula had expressed interest to work for the government and help with the recovery efforts in the resort city of Acapulco, which was ravaged last week by Hurricane Otis.

The latest caravan comes at a time when Biden is facing intense pressure to reduce the number of undocumented immigrants at the southwestern United States border.

U.S. Customs Border and Protection recorded 269,735 encounters along the southern border region in September, the most since December 2022 when 252,315 interdictions were registered. 

Overall, CBP reported 2,475,669 interdictions in fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 to September 2022), surpassing the previous fiscal year when 2,378,944 encounters were recorded.
