A farm attack took place on Tuesday night 9 November 2021, at 19:00, on a farm in Middelrus, between Mooi River and Greytown in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. A woman (56) was overpowered by an unknown number of attackers in her farmhouse and severely assaulted with a panga.

It is unknown if anything was taken from the farmhouse since the victim was in critical condition.

The attackers fled in their vehicle a grey Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie with a canopy and false registration plates, FVW637FS.

All role players responded and the woman was taken to hospital for medical attention with injuries on the body, head and legs.

Her condition is stable but serious.

The Mooi River police are investigating the attack and have opened an attempted murder case but there have been no arrests.
