U.S. Politics: A Final Word On Barack Obama

A Final Word On Barack Obama

Not just a “bad president.”

August 18, 2023 by Hugh Fitzgerald, Front Page Magazine

I can’t improve on an article by Mark Hemingway that appeared in The Federalist, which considers the “celebrity-obsessed would-be billionaire” and salon-Bolshevik, Marxist determinist, who believes that it’s important to get “on the right side of history” (anyone who opposes him is, of course, “on the wrong side of history”), our former President Barack Hussein Obama. Obama liked to use, as if it were his own, a line he took from Martin Luther King, and that MLK himself had lifted, without attribution, from the celebrated abolitionist Rev. Theodore Parker: “The moral arc of the universe bends toward justice.” No, it doesn’t. There was probably more injustice, with more than 150 million victims of war, genocide, and deliberate starvation across the globe, in the twentieth century than at any time before. And while he likes to prate about history, Obama is not himself a student of history. Consider his speech in Cairo, in 2009, in which, to flatter his Muslim audience, he ascribed so many achievements to Islamic civilization, almost all of them originating, in fact, with non-Muslims. More of Mark Hemingway’s examination of “Obama’s Fraudulent Legacy” can be found here: “Obama’s Fraudulent Legacy Is Being Exposed, And It’s On The Wrong Side Of History,” by Mark Hemingway, The Federalist, August 9, 2023:

Barack Obama’s crumbling public image is more Louis Farrakhan, less MLK.

Barack Obama is often hailed as one of the greatest orators in modern politics. While he had undeniable gifts in that department, as someone who attended a number of his speeches in person, I never quite understood all the praise. Setting aside his career-making “red states, blue states” speech at the 2004 Democratic convention — a plea for political moderation he spent his time in office repudiating — the only memorable things Obama said were either campaign pablum such as “hope and change,” or remarks that were unintentionally revealing.

In the latter category, my personal favorite remark was this comment about congressional Republicans from 2013: “We’re going to try to do everything we can to create a permission structure for them to be able to do what’s going to be best for the country,” he said.

“Permission structure” is a phrase that’s been used by marketing executives for many years, and was apparently in common usage at the Obama White House. The idea is “based on an understanding that radically changing a deeply held belief and/or entrenched behavior will often challenge a person’s self-identity and perhaps even leave them feeling humiliated about being wrong. … Permission Structures serve as scaffolding for someone to embrace change that they might otherwise reject.”

While there’s more overlap between politics and marketing than anyone would like to admit, the naked use of jargon that comes from the world of consumer manipulation betrays a remarkably egotistical approach to politics. There was no need to address honorable disagreement to Obama’s policies, which were politically extreme and consistently opposed by voters. The White House just needed to create, with the help of a slavish media, narratives that could help people admit they were wrong and come around to his way of thinking.

Ironically enough, I thought of the “permission structure” remark reading David Samuels’ interview in Tablet with Obama biographer David Garrow, which is shaping up to be perhaps the most discussed piece of journalism of the year. That’s because the entire article is a really effective “permission structure” for a lot of Obama voters and moderates to finally admit he’s an entirely overrated, largely failed president who was far more radical than he ever let on. He’s also obsessed with celebrity and not very loyal to the people who helped him along the way….

In Obama’s ballyhooed first memoir, Dreams of My Father, Samuels summarizes his description of the breakup between Obama and Sheila Miyoshi Jager, one of his serious girlfriends before he married Michelle Obama: “In Dreams, Obama describes a passionate disagreement following a play by African American playwright August Wilson, in which the young protagonist defends his incipient embrace of Black racial consciousness against his girlfriend’s white-identified liberal universalism.”

But Garrow, who started writing his Obama biography well into Obama’s second term as president, tracked down Jager — now a professor at Oberlin with a formidable academic reputation — and asked her about her relationship with Obama. (That the credulous journalistic establishment was totally incurious about digging into Obama’s inconsistent and self-serving life story is a thread running throughout the interview.) According to her, what really happened was this:

In Jager’s telling, the quarrel that ended the couple’s relationship was not about Obama’s self-identification as a Black man. And the impetus was not a play about the American Black experience, but an exhibit at Chicago’s Spertus Institute about the 1961 trial of Adolf Eichmann.

At the time that Obama and Sheila visited the Spertus Institute, Chicago politics was being roiled by a Black mayoral aide named Steve Cokely who, in a series of lectures organized by Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam, accused Jewish doctors in Chicago of infecting Black babies with AIDS as part of a genocidal plot against African Americans. The episode highlighted a deep rift within the city’s power echelons, with some prominent Black officials supporting Cokely and others calling for his firing.

In Jager’s recollection, what set off the quarrel that precipitated the end of the couple’s relationship was Obama’s stubborn refusal, after seeing the exhibit, and in the swirl of this Cokely affair, to condemn Black racism. While acknowledging that Obama’s embrace of a Black identity had created some degree of distance between the couple, she insisted that what upset her that day was Obama’s inability to condemn Cokely’s comments. It was not Obama’s Blackness that bothered her, but that he would not condemn antisemitism.

While it’s hard to land firmly on one side of a he said/she said account of a romantic break-up, Jager has an outstanding reputation; she’s a professor at Oberlin college. She hasn’t been outspoken about Obama on much of anything, much less publicly critical of him. She doesn’t seem bitter about a relationship that ended decades ago, where Obama asked her to marry him twice and she rejected him.

If Jager is to be believed — and I think she is, as the rest of the Samuels-Garrow interview is full of criticism of episodes where Obama has obviously fictionalized aspects of his memoirs and life story — then this just really puts an exclamation point on the narrative established by this landmark interview. Americans thought they were electing a guy who had tacitly, if not explicitly, said he would fulfill Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, a man who, in Garrow’s considered words, “did not buy into identity politics.” Instead, they got a guy invested in defending Louis Farrakhan’s vision of race in America.

Being a president in the mold of King would entail evaluating leadership failures as a matter of the content of your character and judgment. Following Farrakhan would entail blaming… well, it seems hard to believe Obama would embrace antisemitic conspiracies, but certainly there’s ample evidence that Obama and his defenders do dodge accountability by blaming a more socially acceptable villain of shadowy cabals of racists and Republicans. (On the other hand, if Obama is hoping for favorable assessments of his famously antagonistic relationship with Israel, he’s not helped by Jager’s anecdote or the fact that he had his kids baptized at a church run by a guy who even Ta-Nehisi Coates admits spews “crude conspiratorial antisemitism.”)

That “guy” is the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose church Obama attended for twenty years, where sermons were full of Farrakhan-inflected anti-white sentiments, and Wright himself, after Obama’s election, let loose with a volley of antisemitic sentiments that likely were variations on what Obama had been hearing, intermittently, over two decades.

For those of you who may think this is a little too harsh and/or a Manichean take on Obama’s nuanced worldview, I have good news. The interview is also a springboard to debate Obama’s sexuality. And large portions of the interview are also consumed with discussions of whether Obama is a “celebrity-obsessed would-be billionaire, or … a would-be American Castro, reshaping American society.”…

But it’s been seven years since the guy was in the White House, and the judgment of history is starting to come in. I think we at least have permission to say he was a bad president.

Not just a “bad president.” One of the very worst.

Pud says: The bisexual Muslim Marxist Barack Hussein Obama was & remains the worst ever U.S. President in history as he is still de facto dictating U.S. domestic and foreign policy to his successor the demented pedophile crime lord Joe Biden and both of them in turn take their orders from the evil Marxist George Soros. The Democrats must not be allowed to succeed!  America's best hope of stopping this evil is re-electing Donald Trump as POTUS in 2024. If the Democrats remain in power America will remain in grave danger of becoming just anther failed 3rd world dictatorship shithole!

God Bless America and may God grant Donald Trump victory in 2024 and protect him from harm, Amen!

Muslim Migrant Mob Forces Lone Belgian Boy to Kiss their feet, then pounds him

Muslim Migrant Mob Humiliate, Beat, Force Lone Belgian Boy To Kiss Their Feet

The persecution, subjugation and humiliation of non-Muslims is a central tenet of Islamic doctrine. We see the carnage and humiliation suffered by non-Muslims in Muslim countries daily. Why Western leaders would want this for their own populations is a profound failure of the Western world.

Note how the sharia-complaint media never mentions the religion of the attackers or the motive. Instead they use “Moroccan” as if Morocco has anything to do with it.

The video shows a defenseless White boy humiliated and mauled by a mob. The victim is ordered to kneel before the aggressors who put their feet in front of his mouth and shouted, “Kiss! Kiss!” The victim obliged and kissed the feet of several attackers before being punched and kicked in the head as he lay on the ground.

Viral video of Belgian boy forced to kiss feet of attackers shows failure of multiculturalism, critics claim

The Belgian police have confirmed they are aware of the disturbing incident and are seeking to identify those involved

By: Thomas Brooke, Remix News, August 17, 2023:

Viral footage of a Belgian boy being savagely beaten by a gang and forced to kiss the feet of his attackers has provoked a strong reaction from lawmakers opposed to mass immigration and in favor of greater law and order.

The disturbing video circulated on social media on Thursday shows a defenseless White boy humiliated and mauled by a group of Muslim youth. The victim is ordered to kneel before the aggressors who put their feet in front of his mouth and shouted, “Kiss! Kiss!”

Under duress, the victim obliged and kissed the feet of several attackers before being punched and kicked in the head as he lay on the ground.

According to the Dutch newspaper Brabants Dagblad, the incident took place at a sports hall in the Belgian municipality of Zelzate, close to the Dutch border. It is understood the footage was filmed last Friday, Aug. 11.

“It concerns a minor victim. The suspects also seem to be peers,” a spokesperson for the Puyenbroeck Police Department told local media.

“We saw the images last night,” they said on Thursday. “We suspect that we will quickly identify the young suspects.”

The video has provoked a strong reaction from local politicians and the wider conservative community across Europe.

“We take this very seriously. It’s horrifying what’s happening in those images. I condemn this kind of behavior with every fiber in my body,” said Brent Meuleman, mayor of Zelzate and a member of the socialist Vooruit party.

“The victim’s parents contacted me last night to report the incident. The police have been investigating all day. I hope those guys are identified and justice will be served for the victim,” he added.

Other politicians and commentators were more scathing of the wider circumstances surrounding the attack, claiming it pointed to evidence of deteriorating law and order and a failure by some to integrate into Western society following years of mass immigration.

Tom Van Grieken, the leader of the nationalist Vlaams Belang party in Belgium, called the scenes “disgusting” and asked his followers, “Is this really the society you want to live in? Time for law and order. Time for Vlaams Belang!” ["Flemish Interest", A Flemish political party]

Jens De Pauw, the Vlaams Belang party secretary in the port city of Gent, claimed the video was evidence of “cultural enrichment” causing “degeneration,” and called on the socialist PvdA (Labour) party, which co-governs in the municipality alongside Vooruit, to condemn the attack.

“This young Fleming is beaten up, humiliated and forced to kiss the feet of these immigrant attackers… How do you think this will end? Wake up,” commented French lawyer and activist Pierre Gentillet.

“Moroccan immigrants humiliate and force a Belgian boy to kiss their feet. It seems that ‘multiculturalism’ is not going quite well in Europe,” added acclaimed French writer Emmanuel Rincón, founder of the Regional Renaissance political consultancy.

Elon Musk described the footage as “messed up”.

A crowd of Arabs in Brussels strolled through the area where migrants live – about two-thirds of its inhabitants are migrants from North Africa, Syria, Iraq, Senegal, Congo and Côte d’Ivoire. The new "owners" of the territory stumbled upon a local Belgian boy and began to mock him: they said that if he wants to stay healthy, he should kiss their feet. And although the frightened boy resignedly did what was required, in the end he was still beaten.

They force him to kneel and kiss their feet as a sign of humiliation and an illustration of Islam’s superiority over infidels.

There are more than half a million Muslims in Belgium. 20 percent of the residents of Brussels, the capital city of the European Union, are Muslims.

Attacks like this are becoming increasingly common, and are no coincidence, they're asserting dominance as they grow in number. As the number of Muslims grows, expect more of this.

Humiliating kafirs (non-Muslims) is a practice that Islam uses to colonize and conquer. This dhimmitude is part of the Islamization of Europe.

Zelzate, where the attack occurred, is a Flemish municipality controlled by communists and socialists.

Health Secretary Admiral Levine: Replace "Mother" with "Egg Producer"

Biden's trans health secretary Dr Rachel Levine praises Alaska gender-affirming care clinic which wants word 'mother' replaced with phrase EGG PRODUCER

  • Levine visited Identity Alaska - a nonprofit community center that provides resources and health care for the 'LGBTQIA2S+ and allied community'
  • The company say kids should learn that doctors 'assign' gender to babies by making a 'guess' - while also promoting the use of 'gender-inclusive biology'

Joe Biden's transgender health secretary has praised an Alaska gender-affirming care clinic which wants the word 'mother' replaced with the phrase 'egg producer.'

Dr Rachel Levine, 65, is the highest ranking openly transgender federal official in the country - and has long endorsed providing gender-affirming care to minors, arguing that the treatment is 'lifesaving.'

Levine visited Identity Alaska - a nonprofit community center that provides resources and health care for the 'LGBTQIA2S+' community which stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and two spirit.

She showed up on August 6 - and praised the clinic's 'tireless' efforts to provide 'lifesaving medical care.'

She said, according to Fox News: 'These inspiring people work tirelessly to create a more equitable future, where all those living in the U.S. have equal access to lifesaving medical care.'

The health secretary, who grew up male, underwent puberty as a man, attended medical school, got married and became a father before deciding to transition.

The Alaska-based company she visited promotes ideas that children should learn that doctors 'assign' gender to babies by making a 'guess' - while also promoting the use of 'gender-inclusive biology.'

Teachers and educators need to speak to children 'without assuming that there are only two sexes and that everyone within a particular sex is the same.'

Instead of using the word 'mother' in these conversations, they recommend using terms such as 'egg producer' or 'carrier.'

In a bid to de-gender the language, its style guide also says words like 'gestational parent,' and 'birth parent' should be used.

The clinic also recommends children be taught to use proper biological terms for body parts. For example, instead of 'male reproductive organs,' to use 'penis and testicles.'

Instead of using the word 'men,' their language guide suggests that people using the term 'XY individuals.'

The section of the website, promoted by Identity Alaska, states: 'This website aims to curate resources and connect science educators, students, learners of all types, parents, guardians, and everyone involved in supporting and learning to grow a more inclusive biology curriculum.'

The company also promotes people ditching the term 'gender reveal party' - and urges new families to call them 'embryogenesis parties' or 'chromosome reveal parties.'

Levine was made a four-star admiral of the public health service. She tends to sport her admiral's uniform during public appearances.

Just last month, Levine said that children can go through 'the wrong puberty.'

'The treatment options for gender-affirming care for transgender youth really are evidence-based,' Levine said.

She had been asked about the possibility of keeping transgender youth from seeking body-altering treatment until at least the age of 18.

Levine has previously said so-called gender-affirming care for minors has the 'highest support' from the Biden administration.

Levine's support for gender-affirming care for minors would, in some cases, take away opportunities that Levine had living as a man for decades before transitioning, her critics have pointed out.

The ABC host asked Levine: 'What would you say to people who think they're being reasonable by saying 'why can't children just wait until they're 18?'

'Adolescence is hard and puberty is hard. What if you're going through the wrong puberty? What if you inside feel that you are female, but now you're going through a male puberty?' responded Levine.

The assistant secretary followed up by proclaiming that 'gender-affirming care is medical care.'

'Gender-affirming care is mental health care. Gender-affirming care is literally suicide prevention.

'A supportive adult can make all the difference. Now one might hope that might be a parent or a relative. Sometimes it's a teacher or a coach or a religious adviser or someone else in their life.'

Levine added that for 'pre-pubertal children, there are no medical procedures done. The standard of care allows them to explore that with therapy.'

While there are no surgeries being done on children below the age of 13, there are puberty blockers given to children prior to the time they reach puberty.

She also revealed that she is glad she waited so long to transition because it allowed her to have a family.

'I have no regrets because if I had transitioned when I was younger then I wouldn't have my children. I can't imagine a life without my children,' Levine said during a 2019 speech about gender care.

Despite her own experience, she thinks it should become easier for other kids to start treatment as teenagers, even if it costs them their ability to have their own children later in life.

Ask Beverly Hills: How Much Does Average American Make?

Beverly Hills teenagers are slammed as 'spoiled' and 'tone deaf' for their WILDLY 'ignorant' guesses about what the average American earns

  • Jessica Palmadessa took to the streets of California to interview teenagers
  • She asked them how much money they thought Americans made in a year
  • The video of the teens' 'out of touch' and 'tone deaf' responses went viral

'Out of touch,' 'tone deaf' and 'terrible.'

These are the words that have been used to describe a group of 'spoiled' teenagers who were asked what they thought the average American made in a year.

Taking to the streets of one of the country's most-privileged zip codes, California's Beverly Hills, content creator Jessica Palmadessa sought out rich kids to answer this burning question.

And strap in, because you're in for a wild ride.

People on the web have been left in a fit of laughter after a video of 'out of touch' Beverly Hills teens revealing how much money they think the average American makes in a year went viral

Another's response sent eyebrows raising as he said he thought the working class brought in 'half a million' a year.

One interviewee was a bit more a realistic, estimating '$90,000 to $100,000.'

The last teen revealed she thought the average American made '$200,000 to $250,000.'

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the average income for an American is $54,132.

And it's no surprise that viewers were shocked by the responses, slamming the teens for being 'out of touch.'

'I swear rich people live in their own world,' one person wrote in the comments section.

Another user added: 'Are these people joking?'

Someone else wrote: 'The reason why I hate rich people is not [because] of their money but because of how out of touch they are with reality, it's not that hard to Google the news.'

'These kids are in for a big shock when they enter the workforce,' one comment read.

'This is actually really terrible,' a fifth person wrote.

'Are these people really that tone deaf?' another said, while one viewer added: 'Spoiled children have no concept of anything.'

'I am shocked at the ignorance here,' someone else wrote.

'Rich people live in a different world,' one commenter said.

Since it was posted about two weeks ago, Jessica's video has been viewed more than 1.4 million times.

While nationally the average salary is $54,132, it is $78,672 in California.

And while the teens of Beverly Hills may be living lavishly on their parents' dime, working class Americans are struggling to make ends meet due to soaring inflation.

Inflation has dropped off in the past few months, but it still remains high and currently sits at 7.1 per cent.

Across the country, according to consumer data firm Dunnhumby, one-third of households are skipping meals or reducing their portion sizes to save money.

Researchers found that 18 per cent of the survey's 2,000 participants noted they weren't getting enough food to eat.

Furthermore, 31 per cent of households have reduced their portion sizes due to empty pantries as a result of rising grocery store prices.

In addition to food costs, millions of people across the country lack a financial safety net.

According to researchers, 64 per cent of participants admitted they wouldn't be able to raise $400 in an emergency.

Many have suffered due to inflation, which has caused the prices of basic goods to skyrocket - including the prices of meat and poultry up by 10.4 per cent, cereal up 15.1 per cent, and fruits and vegetables up 8.1 per cent.

Gas prices are another point of pressure for many people around the country, up nearly 60 per cent over the past year, with the cost of airfares up more than 34 per cent and the price of used cars up more than 7 per cent.

Apparel costs are up by 5.2 per cent, overall shelter costs went up 5.5 per cent and delivery services have gone up 14.4 per cent.
