South Africa: Farm attack, woman (75) assaulted with a crowbar in her home, Muldersdrift

A farm attack took place in the early hours of Thursday 24 June 2021, in Muldersdrift, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Susan Orpen (75), was woken up by a strange noise outside her house and then suddenly there were two attackers, one armed with a crowbar and one with a firearm, in her bedroom.
The elderly woman was struck over the head with the crowbar and further assaulted by the attackers who demanded money and cell phones.
The attackers ransacked the home and then forced her to lay on the bed where they tied her hands and covered her with a blanket.
After the attackers fled she pressed her panic alarm. She also called her daughter who stays next door who responded and found her mom covered in blood and severely traumatised.
The attackers fled with cash, computers and other household items.
Susan had to undergo a brain scan after the attack.
he Muldersdrift Police confirmed the armed robbery and said the robbers gained entry through a window that was slightly open.
There have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
