Kim Jong Un launches his personal brand of light beer to help North Koreans slim down

Pour me another Un! Kim Jong launches his own low cal beer to help North Koreans get slim

Kim Jong Un has launched his own low calorie beer in a bid to help North Koreans slim down.

As his citizens have revealed thousands of entire families are starving to death under his rule the deluded despot's state-run brewery is looking to supply the demand for light beer among its weight-conscious citizens.

Their new version of the Taedonggang beer will have 'low sugar content and calories' and is 'very effective for sports enthusiasts and people with overweight bodies' according to outlet Choson Sinbo, which has close ties to the state.

The health-conscious tipple is made by a brewery established in 2001, which uses an English brewery that used to sit in Wiltshire, and has now been knocked down and reassembled in Pyongyang.

Rowan Beard, a tour manager at Young Pioneer Tours - who specialise in budget tours to North Korea - told NK News: 'There is an outspoken demand for a beer that can avoid men putting on weight in North Korea.'

North Korean men reportedly receive tokens for two litres of beer every month, the outlet says, although distilled rice alcohol Soju is the national drink.

It is the eighth variety of beer made by the brewery, whose drinks have previously been exported to China and even South Korea.

The thinning-scheme also comes as civilians trapped inside North Korea say they have watched mothers, unable to work due to sickness, die of starvation before their children succumbed to the same fate.

Kim has been cracking down on those caught smuggling food into North Korea to sell at markets or anyone who goes close to the border.

For those who are caught even approaching the border, they are shot dead as part of state executions. Witnesses say they have watched four people being lined up at a time before being pummelled with bullets.

North Koreans say they have become desperate - with many watching their neighbours and their children die of starvation.
