South Africa: Farm attack, 4 attackers overpower security guards, raid farm, Harrismith

A farm attack took place on Monday 10 January 2022, at 23:00, on a farm in Digby, Harrismith, in the Free State province of South Africa. Two security guards were overpowered by four armed attackers.
The attackers were armed with a firearm, a spear and a knife.
The attackers held up the guards and raided the farm store. They fled with a number of items, including a welding machine, generator and tools.
The guards were not injured during the attack and robbery.
This is the second attack in the area in a two days. On 11 January 2022, at about 16:15, a farm attack took place on a farm near Harrismith, in the Free State province of South Africa.
A 77-year-old woman was on her farm when she heard water running outside the house, she went to inspect and found that it was a geyser and went back into the house inside her bedroom.
When she came out of the bedroom again and was surprised by an attacker who was in possession of a knife who demanded firearms and cash.
Police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
