- Manly Beach, Sydney came in at 13
Australia is famed worldwide for its coastal lifestyle but just two of our beaches have made it into an influential annual list of best beaches based on reviews by travellers.
And despite its tourist pull and name recognition, the sweeping coastline of Bondi Beach did not make the cut on TripAdvisor's Best of the Best Beaches for 2023 list released on Wednesday.
Instead, Cable Beach in Broome, Western Australia and Manly on Sydney's northern beaches, were the Australian strips of sand to crack the top 15 list.
Travel website TripAdvisor analysed tens of millions of reviews submitted by millions of global travellers over the past 12 months.
The online travel site looked at the quality and quantity of ratings for beach experiences to compile the top 15.
