Crazed Pro-Abortion Professor Holds Machete to New York Post Reporter's Neck

Unhinged NYC college professor who cursed out anti-abortion students holds machete to Post reporter’s neck

The unhinged Manhattan college professor who went viral for cursing out anti-abortion students shockingly held a machete to a Post reporter’s neck Tuesday — and made wild threats that she was going to “chop” him up.

Shellyne Rodriguez spewed the menacing remarks when The Post knocked on the door of her Bronx apartment Tuesday morning — a day after she made headlines for flipping out on pro-life students at Hunter College.

“Get the f–k away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!” the manic adjunct art professor shouted from behind her closed door just moments after veteran reporter Reuven Fenton identified himself.

Seconds later, Rodriguez barged out and alarmingly put the blade to the reporter’s neck.

“Get the f–k away from my door! Get the f–k away from my door!” she raged before retreating back into her apartment and slamming the door.

“Get the f–k away from my door! Get the f–k away from my door!” the professor raged before going back into her apartment.

The Post reporter and photographer immediately left the apartment building, but an armed Rodriguez quickly followed and accosted them outside.

“If I see you on this block one more f–king time, you’re gonna …,” Rodriguez said, while still wielding the implement.

“Get the f–k off the block! Get the f–k out of here, yo!”

The professor briefly chased The Post’s photographer down the street to his car before coming back to kick the reporter in the shins.

She finally retreated into her building just moments later.

Vince DiMiceli, a spokesman for Hunter College, told The Post Tuesday afternoon that Rodriguez had been fired.

“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action,” he said. “Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school.”

The terrifying ordeal unfolded after footage surfaced online that showed Rodriguez unleashing a profanity-laden attack on anti-abortion students who’d set up an information table at Hunter College earlier this month.

Moments after The Post left the building, the professor followed and chased the photographer down the street wielding the machete.

“You’re not educating s–t. This is f–king propaganda,” the art professor hissed to the students in the May 2 incident. “What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next?”

A male student behind the table was filmed telling her, “I mean, no, we’re talking about abortion” and that he was sorry about “triggering” her students.

Rodriguez fired back, telling the male student he couldn’t be sorry “because you can’t even have a f–king baby.”

The video, which was posted to Twitter by Students for Life of America, then showed the professor tossing the students’ pamphlets

A rep for Hunter College, a public school that is part of the city’s CUNY program, previously said the school is aware of the caught-on-camera altercation and is “taking this matter very seriously.”

“The provost has opened an investigation into the professor’s actions,” the representative said.

The manic Manhattan college professor who threatened a Post reporter with a machete has been fired, the school said Tuesday — as it emerged she is suing the NYPD for allegedly abusing her during the 2020 George Floyd protests.

Shellyne Rodriguez was sacked by Hunter College just hours after the adjunct professor was caught on camera holding the blade to the veteran reporter’s neck while threatening to “chop” him up outside her Bronx apartment.

Rodriguez is currently embroiled in a legal saga against the NYPD over allegations officers abused her when she was arrested in the Bronx during a George Floyd protest in June 2020.

Rodriguez, who is the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit, claims she suffered nerve damage from being zip-tied when she was nabbed and put in a prisoner van with 14 other protesters.

Officers allegedly pulled her hair, shoved her face into a gate and repeatedly punched her in the stomach, according to court filings.

Once she was in custody, Rodriguez told a cop her restraints were too tight, but the officer “yanked on [her] zip ties hard and tightened them even further” – causing her to “scream out in pain,” the suit says.

Rodriguez “felt pain with every jerk of the van during the lengthy ride” to the precinct, court papers allege.

She claims the zip ties weren’t removed for the next two hours and by then, her wrists were already severely injured.

Rodriguez claims she suffered swelling and a slew of long-term injuries, including bilateral thumb numbness from nerve damage, as a result of her arrest. The lawsuit adds that the injuries also impacted “her ability to make art.”

The professor at the New York City art college has drawn the ire of social media after a video showed her hurling obscenities at pro life students over a display at their school that she eventually destroyed.

Shellyne Rodriguez, 46, is an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts and Hunter College in the Big Apple.

She's also an artist and activist who claims her work 'utilizes text, drawing, painting, collage and sculpture to depict spaces and subjects engaged in strategies of survival against erasure and subjugation,' according to her bio.

A video posted by a pro-life group from early in May shows her stopping at an educational pro life display at Hunter College in the City University of New York, which is taxpayer funded. A spokesperson for the school has said an investigation is underway.

'You're not educating s***,' Rodriguez said to one of the students. 'This is f***ing propaganda. What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next? This is bulls***. This is violent. You're triggering my students.'
