- Seven others were injured in the blast during the religious Muharram procession
At least four people have been electrocuted in India after a Muslim religious procession bashed into a high-voltage overhead cable.
Members of a procession in the eastern state of Jharkhand were killed and seven others were injured when a metal pole carried by some devotees hit an overhead cable, Bokaro district police superintendent Priyadarshi Alok said.
The incident, where an iron 'Tazia' float came in touch with a live wire carrying 11,000 volts, occurred at around 6am on Saturday morning.
Those injured were taken to the Bokaro General Hospital, where three remain in a critical condition.
The Islamic calendar is currently in the month of Muharram, the holiest time for Shiites across the world, when large Ashura processions mark the martyrdom of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson Hussein in the seventh century.

Video footage showed the moment that the procession carried the float too close to the live wire.
As the crowd approached the overhead wire, the float appeared to wobble and its top appeared precariously close to touching it.
A loud bang was then heard alongside shouting as the float fell to the floor and the cameraman fled from the scene.
A man in the procession could be heard shouting in Hindi: 'Stop, stop, stop! Didn't I warn you to stop?'
Tazia are miniature replicas of the tomb of Imam Hussein. They are predominantly made from bamboo and decorated with colourful paper and fabric.
Deaths by electrocution are common in India as a result of waterlogging during the summer monsoon season.
Nearly 11,000 people on average die by electrocution in India every year, according to official data.
