Cool Tackle: New Zealand Cop Rugby Tackles Pally Protestor

New Zealand cop rugby tackles pro-Palestinian protester onto the footpath: 'Oh my god!'

A pro-Palestinian supporter has been slammed to the ground by a police officer in a massive rugby tackle.

The demonstrator threw a bottle at a police officer during a heated rally at the Port of Auckland in New Zealand on Thursday and then ran away before returning to the site.

In a video shared to X, the man dressed in all black is seen jogging down a footpath before coming to a stop as he's confronted by the officer.

Footage shows the cop charging towards the protestor and forcefully lifting him into the air and slamming him into the ground.

Onlookers are heard crying out in horror as the officer pins the man to the footpath, twisting his arms behind his back as he goes to cuff him.

'Stop, stop! Oh my god!' a woman behind the camera is heard screaming.

Officers then barricade around the pair, pushing away angry onlookers.

A minor scuffle ensued with demonstrators shouting claims of 'police brutality', the NZ Herald reported.
