(I visited Trondheim in 1961 as a kid. Very beautiful place -AA)

What was meant to be a quiet Saturday afternoon in the Norwegian city of Trondheim took a horrifying turn after a violent stabbing incident left four people injured.

The attack happened on this saturday in Møllenberg, a usually calm residential area. According to reports, the violence broke out between five people between the ages of 20 and 40. One of the injured is thought to be the attacker himself.

Emergency services arrived quickly and described the scene as ‘a serious and violent incident’.

The Trondheim stabbing victims were hospitalized and the Perp arrested

Police confirmed that one person is in critical condition, while two others are seriously hurt. A fourth victim suffered minor injuries. All of them, including the suspected attacker, have been admitted to hospital for treatment and are under close observation.

Authorities have also revealed that the man believed to be responsible is around 40 years old and has a previous conviction for serious assault.

The suspect was arrested at the scene.

The stabbing has shaken the community, with many locals expressing shock that such a violent event could happen in their normally peaceful city.

Four people were injured in the knife attack in an apartment building in the center of the Norwegian city of Trondheim. One of them was seriously injured and resuscitated.

The police managed to arrest the suspect on the spot, a 40-year-old man.

The age of the victims ranges from 20 to 40 years. According to the police, these are not random victims; they all live in the same building.

Residents of this residential complex told the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK that there had been incidents of violence in the building before.

An Iranian-born Norwegian man was found guilty of a 2022 Oslo LGBT+ festival attack, and sentenced to 30 years in prison

Two people were killed and nine were seriously wounded.

The Oslo District Court said Zaniar shot 10 rounds with a machine gun and eight shots with a handgun into the crowd. It said Matapour had sworn allegiance to Islamic State.

The shooting shocked Norway, which has a relatively low crime rate but has experienced a series of “lone wolf” attacks.

The gunman was known to security services since 2015 as a "suspected radicalised Islamist", Norway's PST intelligence service said.

Norway's prime minister told the BBC the suspect was questioned the previous May, but was not deemed a threat at the time.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tweeted that she was "shocked by the heinous attack on innocent people".
