Just Stop Oil: You can't arrest us all! Police: Errr, we just did

'You can't arrest us all! Er... we just have': Met Police mock Just Stop Oil after eco-clowns claim the police 'quite literally can't' arrest every one of them - before they do just that

The Met Police have mocked Just Stop Oil's latest call to action after arresting every single climate change protester who marched through the capital today and blocked traffic.

At least 21 protesters were taken into custody for alleged public order offences as the eco-group carried out its demonstration along Mile End Road, east London.

The group took to social media as officers detained demonstrators, saying: 'They quite literally can't arrest us all.'

The Met hit back at their anti-policing claim, writing: 'We "quite literally" just have.'

The exchange came after an angry driver today got out of his car to disrupt the group's march and criticise the protesters for being 'stupid'.

Twenty-two Just Stop Oil activists marched through east London today beginning at 12.14pm today, according to the climate change group. They started on Bow Road and marched to Mile End Road.

Met Police officers arrived on scene just three minutes after their march started and began arresting demonstrators by 12.30pm for breaching Section 7 of the Public Order Act.

During the protest, Just Stop Oil was approached by a fuming motorist who was left in standstill traffic as the group slowly marched in the middle of Mile End Road.

Video shows how he got out of his vehicle, walked over to a protester - who retreated as he approached - and yelled: 'What the f**k is your problem?

The driver, whose vehicle remained abandoned in the street, launched a furious rant: 'You have a problem with the Government, do you not? So why are you blocking the road?'

He accused the activists of being 'dumb' and further questioned, 'why aren't you outside House of Parliament?'

The Met arrested 21 eco-zealots today for breaching Section 7 of the Public Order Act, which gives officers the power to arrest any demonstrator who 'intentionally or recklessly' interferes with the operation of national infrastructure - including 'road transport infrastructure'.

Just Stop Oil has been carrying out slow marches through the streets of London for months now. Since October 30 alone, the Met Police have made 274 arrests during the group's protests and issued 132 charges.

'It has been another busy week for officers policing Just Stop Oil activists,' the force tweeted today.

'We are removing officers from local communities to police these protests. That is money and officers which could be better utilised within our 32 London boroughs.'

The demonstrations have been highly criticised by the public, who are seemingly outraged over the routine traffic disruptions.

Earlier this week their demonstration prevented first responders from getting to the scene of a medical emergency.

On Wednesday, a paramedic was reportedly begging police to clear the eco-zealots out of the way so he could attend a 'life or death' emergency as they held up traffic on Waterloo Bridge.

Activists staging a 'die-in' blocked a 'blue lights' ambulance trying to respond to an emergency at Guy's Hospital in central London.

Video and pictures from the scene showed a blue-light ambulance trapped in gridlocked traffic in central London, where eco zealots slow-marched and lay down on the wet pavement.

One exasperated paramedic is reported to have begged police to be given access through the road, saying he was trying to save someone's life.

The driver of the ambulance told The Telegraph: 'I am responding to a life or death emergency - I am going to pick up a team from Guy's hospital to save someone's life at another hospital but can't get through.'

Police said the march was causing gridlock on the bridge, holding up traffic including an ambulance with 'blue lights on'.

Pro-Pally Professor Who Killed Paul Kessler Identified

College professor Loay Alnaji is named as the pro-Palestinian 'who killed Jewish protestor Paul Kessler' when rival rallies clashed in Thousand Oaks, California

  • Computer science professor Loay Alnaji, 50, has been identified as the man who hit Paul Kessler with a megaphone knocking him to the ground
  • The incident occurred when pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian rallies clashed in Thousand Oaks, California, on Sunday afternoon
  • Kessler died in the hospital the following day from an injury sustained when his head hit the pavement
The man who police have questioned in relation to the death of a Jewish man during a clash with pro-Palestinian protestors is a 50-year-old college professor.

Loay Alnaji, who teaches computer science at Ventura Community College in California, hit Paul Kessler with a megaphone knocking him to the ground.

Police raided his home on a quiet cul-de-sac in Moorpark, California, on Sunday evening.

‘My husband was getting home from Costco when he saw a SWAT team, six cops with rifles and full gear. Their vehicles were not police cars, they were unmarked,’ neighbor Milli Revezzo said.

‘It’s shocking,’ added Revezzo, a realtor. ‘As a Moorpark resident I don’t like when anything happens here, as we’re known as one of the safest cities.’

Alnaji is unabashed in his support for the Palestinian cause, posting online a video comparing the terror group Hamas with historic civil rights icons.

Kessler, 69, was struck down in Thousand Oaks, California, northwest of Los Angeles, when two rival groups protesting events in Israel and Gaza clashed. He died in the hospital the following day.

The injury that killed him occurred when his head hit the pavement.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles said Kessler was 'struck in the head by a megaphone wielded by a pro-Palestinian protestor.'

"The man brought his megaphone up and hit Paul, and Paul went down,' one witness told ABC Los Angeles.

Records show that Alnaji came to the United States in the 1990s ¿ he had previously taught in the United Arab Emirates

Alnaji got a doctorate in business administration from Argosy University which closed its doors in 2019 after being accused of fraud and financial mismanagement.

Alnaji came to the United States in the 1990s, records show. He had previously taught in the United Arab Emirates. He married Nada Al Hammouri on Christmas Eve 2015. They have three children.

At 3:20 pm  Alnaji hit Kessler in the face with his megaphone causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.

He was taken to the hospital bleeding from the head and mouth and died the following day.

An autopsy determined he died from a blunt force head injury and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles called his death ‘an anti-Semitic crime’.

Harrowing social media footage showed Kessler lying on the ground with a pool of blood under him as medics rushed to help him.
