It’s a choc-block!
While most people might profess their love with a box of chocolates, a UK man is locking up his candy stash to prevent his bride-to-be from eating sweets in a move that’s been deemed both “genius” and “dastardly” by social media users.
Stacey Lowe posted Facebook pics on Sept. 12 of her future hubby’s not-so-sweet stunt with tasty treats, including a block of Cadbury chocolate, tucked away in a Lockabox fridge safe that only her fiancé, Dave Williams, has the combination to, reports News.com.au.
“So this is what it has come too [sic],” she wrote. “You buy a house together, have a child together, get engaged, are planning a wedding and doing your house up and this happens!”
To add insult to cocoa cravings, the lockbox is entirely see-through, much to Lowe’s chagrin.
“Dave goes and buys a f–kin fridge safe because he’s an a–hole and doesn’t want to share his chocolate with me anymore,” she wrote. “Anyone want him? Surely this is break-up material right?! Pr–k!”

Her bombastic post has garnered around 60,000 shares and started a veritable war in the comment section. Most sympathized with Lowe’s plight, posting cries of “I’d burn the house down” and “Why would anyone do this to their spouse?” However, others sided with her “choc-blocking” lover, saying, “I need this in my life” and “This will keep our daughter outta our snacks!”
Lockabox also commented on the chocolate jail, taking responsibility for Lowe’s predicament, reports News.com.au.
The company bills itself on Amazon as the perfect item to “prevent children and vulnerable adults from accessing household pills, allergenic foods, washing tablets, batteries or alcohol.”
But Williams’ victory may be short-lived, as Lowe also threatened, “Think I need to invest in one for myself now. Two can play that game!”
