A farm murder took place on Sunday 5 September 2021, at 18:30, on the dairy farm, Boslaagte, near Nanaga, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Three armed attackers invaded the home of the home of Werner (55) and Estelle Buchner.

Mr Buchner Senior was shot in the back and his son Werner Buchner Junior was shot and wounded.

Mrs. Estelle Buchner, who attempted to protect her husband and son was severely beaten resulting in serious injuries, including two broken arms.

Estelle and Werner Buchner Junior were transported to a hospital in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) for treatment, where Werner Junior has undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition.

The attackers fled with two cell phones and some cash.

All role players responded to the attack and assisted the family.

Police are investigating but there have been no arrests.
