Democrat Police Defunder Bloodied in Violent Carjacking, Calls for Tougher Crime Laws

Democratic party chairwoman Shivanthi Sathanandan is left bloodied in violent carjacking and now calls for tougher crime control laws (carjacking and assault are already against the law).after once vowing to dismantle Minneapolis Police Dept.

  • Shivanthi Sathanandan shared news of the attack on social media Wednesday
  • She's been riding the gravy train since 2006 when she joined up with the DFL
  • The Democratic party official who pledged to 'dismantle' the Minneapolis Police Department in 2020 is now calling for tougher crime control laws after suffering a violent carjacking outside her Minnesota home.

Shivanthi Sathanandan, the Second Vice Chairwoman for the Democrat-Farmer-Labor party, took to Facebook on Wednesday to share the graphic outcome of the gunpoint attack on her driveway and to call for justice.

Pictured with blood on her face, she said that she had suffered a broken leg, deep cuts on her head and all over her body, and bruising after four young men (no ID on the perps: we all know what that means :) carrying guns 'beat me violently down to the ground in front of our kids. And I have rage' she said.

Sathanandan demanded swift consequences, calling to 'catch these young people who are running wild and creating chaos in our city and hold them in custody and prosecute them. Period.'

The photo quickly went viral as users pointed back to a 2020 post from Sathanandan's account calling to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department, writing that 'MPD has systematically failed the Black Community, they have failed ALL OF US... If you are still disagreeing with that BASIC FACT, I'm not sure what to say to you'.

(Facts? What facts?)

The DFP politician shared this photo after the violent attack. Some people have to learn the hard way.

Sathanandan in 2020 called for the dismantling of the Minneapolis Police Department

Sathanandan in 2020 called for the dismantling of the Minneapolis Police Department. In another post from June 2 of that same year, she praised the Minneapolis School Board's decision to terminate its contract with the police department, stating, "MPD should have no place in our children's schools."

Sathanandan shared a photo of herself after the attack on Facebook with blood running down her face.

She wrote: 'Look at my face in the picture. This is the face of a mother who just had the [s**t] beaten out of her.' (She thinks she deserves extra consideration because she is a mother. The carjackers didn't agree :)

In the post, she went on to call for more to be done to catch those responsible for 'creating chaos across our city'. But some pointed out that Sathanandan had led calls to dismantle the police department back in June 2020, at the height of the Black Lives Matter protests.

On another account she had written: 'We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department. Say it with me.

'DISMANTLE [...] The [...] Minneapolis [...] Police [...] Department

'As allies, what can we do right now? LISTEN and LEARN from our Black siblings. And then AMPLIFY this message right now, in this moment. MPD has systematically failed the Black Community, they have failed ALL OF US.

'It's time to build a new infrastructure that works for ALL communities. If you are still disagreeing with that BASIC FACT, I'm not sure what to say to you.'

“Rarely is hypocrisy quite that obvious,” said Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund.

Johnson said this appeared to him to be a person of privilege who felt insulated from crime at the time she was calling for the dismantling of her local police department.

“When it comes closer to home and she becomes a victim of that exact same type of crime, all of a sudden her position changes,” he said.

Minneapolis police confirmed the carjacking incident. While her car was later recovered, no suspects have been arrested.
