Disney's self governing status officially comes to an end

Source: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/02/27/ron-desantis-signs-legislation-officially-ending-disneys-self-governing-status/

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday signed legislation officially ending Disney’s self-governing status nearly a year after the company went full groomer, vowing to fight against the pro-parent Parental Rights in Education bill, which the governor signed into law last year.

DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill last year, which in part prevented classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity for children in kindergarten through third grade. At the time, far-left activists falsely labeled the bill “Don’t Say Gay,” even though no word or phrase is banned under the legislation. Disney joined the far left, stating, “Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts”:

That set up a full-blown war between the DeSantis administration and woke Disney — which had already forged its path in pushing the LGBT+ agenda on children in shows and movies —  as the Florida legislature began to move. In April 2022, DeSantis signed legislation dissolving Disney’s special tax and governing jurisdiction. And on Monday, DeSantis, with help from the Florida legislature, signed legislation officially ending Disney’s self-governing status.

“We want our kids to be kids. We want them to be able to enjoy entertainment school without having an agenda imposed upon them. And so if you’re going that way, as a corporation, those are not the values that we want to promote in the state of Florida,” he said.

“We want to promote the safety of our students and the rights of our parents. So we had this situation here, that was basically indefensible. From a policy perspective, how do you give one theme park its own government and then treat all the other theme parks differently?” DeSantis asked, deeming it bad policy which was not “justifiable or sustainable.”

“I’ll be signing the bill momentarily, and that will officially end the self-governing status here in central Florida for Disney,” DeSantis said, adding that the legislation will also end Disney’s exemption from the Florida building code and Florida fire prevention code.

“It will end Disney’s exemption from state regulatory reviews and approval. It will end Disney secrecy by finally ensuring transparency about what goes on in this area. It will ensure that it pays its fair share of taxes. It will prevent local governments dominated by leftist politicians from using this situation to raise local taxes,” the governor said, promising that this will be “no additional tax burden” on any Floridian.

“This bill and the structure that we’ve created in this bill will ensure that the municipal debt that’s been wrapped up will be paid by Disney– not by Florida taxpayers. And so this is what accountability looks like. This is what standing up for Florida taxpayers in the rule of law looks like,” he added.

WATCH:

“The state of Florida is the new sheriff in town,” DeSantis said, announcing members of the new state-controlled which will responsible for governing the area.

“I’m pleased to announce that I am going to, later today, formally appoint the following to the control board,” he said, which will include attorney Martin Garcia of Tampa to serve as chairman; Seminole County attorney Michael Sasso; Clearwater attorney Brian Aungst; Sarasota County School Board member Bridget Ziegler; and The Gathering USA CEO Ron Peri.

“They’ve got a lot of work to do. … You got to ensure that all these laws are applied. You got to ensure that debt is paid and you got to ensure the fair share of taxes are paid. And so they’re going to be getting to work very soon,” DeSantis said, announcing an upcoming board meeting.

“So buckle up. There’s a lot to get done. And one of the things that I’ve asked them to do when they convene week from Wednesday is to look at the compensation for the first responders and give them more compensation for doing a good job and so I hopefully will be able to get that,” he added.

Astronomy and Mythology in Native American Culture

Astronomy and Mythology in Native American Culture

By Grady Winston

Before the age of global positioning systems or compasses, people looked to the stars to find their way. And before civilizations knew what stars were, people formed their own beliefs about their significance. In North America, indigenous tribes had differing ideas about what the stars meant, some believing that the night sky had spiritual meaning, and some attributing human-like qualities to the twinkling objects.

Archaeoastronomy is the study of how people of the past understood the stars and the sky, however this broadly applies to all ancient cultures. The Mayans, Celts, and Egyptians alike all had their own methods for tracking the movement of the stars and heavenly bodies, but all of these cultures have the common belief that the phenomenon above their heads was somehow larger and greater than they were. As such, the vast majority of ancient cultures associated the origins of everything, including the sky, moon, sun and earth with some form of mythology related to the stars. Astronomy played in an important role in early Native American cultures, serving as the basis for governance, agricultural practices and more. And studying the stars also caused tribes to theorize about the beginning of life in the universe.

The Pawnee’s Guiding Principles

Polaris

The Skidi band of the Pawnee Indians referred to a ring of stars in the sky as “The Council of Chiefs.” The Pawnee believed the circle represented their governance style of elders holding council to resolve important matters. This constellation was paramount to the way the Pawnee interacted daily as well as their religious beliefs. They used the stars to set agricultural patterns and embody their own societal values. The Council of Chiefs was connected to their “Chief Star,” what is now referred to as Polaris, which represented their primary god Tirawahat. They built their lodges with openings at the top – not only to allow smoke to escape from warming fires inside, but to allow a clear view of the “Council” stars. Today, those stars are known as the Corona Borealis.

The Anasazi

The Crab Nebula

In New Mexico, researchers found a cave painting that appears to depict a supernova explosion; the orientation of a crescent moon and stars indicate that the art may represent the Crab Nebula, formed in 1054 A.D. by supernova. The Anasazi way of life remains somewhat of a mystery, but researchers found that the tribe built a solar observatory, suggesting that the sky was extremely important to the Anasazi way of life.

Navajo Creation of the Sky

A Navajo legend describes the Four Worlds that had no sun and the Fifth World, which represents Earth. According to the legend, the first people of the Fifth World were given four lights but were dissatisfied with the amount of light they had on Earth. After many attempts to satisfy the people, the First Woman created the sun to bring warmth and light to the land, and the moon to provide coolness and moisture. These were crafted from quartz, and, when there were bits of quartz that were left behind by the carving, they were tossed into the sky to make stars.

Hopi Blue Star

Like the Navajo, the Hopi believe there were worlds before this one. The modern era is believed to be the Fourth World, and each world that came before this one ended with the appearance of “the blue star.” In carvings created by the Hopi in the American Southwest, it seems what they saw may have led them to a belief in aliens, a belief that certainly retains a place in the culture of the U.S. to this day.

The divisions between Native American cultures were not unlike the divisions between the societies of today, so few myths extend beyond a single tribe. With the same sky overhead, ancient myths from around the world do share much in common. The History & Culture channel of the Chickasaw TV website features the tribe’s myths about Creation and the Great Flood, two stories repeated again and again throughout most cultures of the world, proving that, even when the world seemed impossibly large, many people were not far from each other, in terms of what they believed under the night sky.

Assange granted the right to appeal extradition – UK High Court

Assange granted the right to appeal extradition – UK High Court

Assange granted the right to appeal extradition – UK High Court

On Monday, the British High Court granted WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange permission to appeal against his extradition to the US. His legal team had petitioned the court to allow him to challenge the extradition decision on points of law of general public importance.

It was ruled that Assange’s application to certify a point of law was legitimate.

“The point of law certified is: In what circumstances can an appellate court receive assurances from a requesting state which were not before the court of first instance in extradition proceedings,” court documents read.

The case will now be reviewed by the UK Supreme Court.

Speaking after the verdict, Assange’s fiancĂ©e, Stella Moris, stated that it was an important step.

“What happened in court today was precisely what we wanted to happen … and that is that the Supreme Court has good grounds to hear this appeal,” Moris told reporters.

“Make no mistake, we won today in court. But let’s not forget: every time we win, as long as this case isn't dropped, as long as Julian isn’t freed, Julian continues to suffer.”

“If there were justice, the officials who plotted and conspired to murder Julian would be in the courtroom right now,” Moris said.

In December, the High Court ruled in favor of allowing the journalist’s extradition to the US, where he faces espionage charges for publishing documents about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2010. A conviction could carry a 175-year prison sentence.

Assange spent seven years living inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, before a new government in Quito revoked his asylum. Protection and surveillance of the embassy cost British taxpayers millions of pounds. He was detained outside the embassy by British police in April 2019, and has since been held in the capital’s Belmarsh maximum-security prison. Moris claims Assange’s health has deteriorated significantly during that time, and recently revealed that, in October 2021, he had suffered a stroke.

Did the Texas Synagogue Jihadi Act Alone?

Did the Texas Synagogue Jihadi Act Alone?

A sobering look at the Pakistani connection.

In the wake of the turbulence surrounding the 15 January 2022 Texas synagogue attack, it may be useful to take a step backward to review those events from a broader strategic perspective. John Guandolo at Understanding the Threat  has done an excellent job explaining how this attack fits into the overall Islamic Movement jihad campaign against Western Civilization and the United States Constitutional Republic and the Jewish people in particular. Here, though, let us focus on the particular involvement of two international aspects: the Tablighi Jama’at Islamic revivalist/missionary organization and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and its Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

First, the event itself: from what we know as of this writing, a Pakistani jihadi with British citizenship named Malik Faisal Akram entered the Reform Jewish Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, TX (a Dallas-Ft. Worth suburb) around 10:40 the morning of 15 January 2022 during Shabbat services. The shul’s prayer and services schedule is helpfully posted online at its monthly calendar page. Services were being livestreamed for the benefit of congregation members praying from home, so much of the event and subsequent 10-hour stand-off with law enforcement was captured on audio, although apparently not on video.

Akram initially approached the closed front doors of the synagogue and was let in by Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, affectionately known by his congregation as ‘Rabbi Charlie”. At first Rabbi Charlie didn’t suspect anything untoward, but interrupting Shabbat services, decided to make tea for Akram. In a 17 Jan 2022 interview with CBS News, Rabbi Charlie recounted the moment when things turned terrifying. Reportedly, Akram pulled a gun and made claims about bombs. According to a portion of the synagogue livestream broadcast obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Akram is heard saying, "I've got these prisoners" and "I am going to die." While his key spoken demand was the release from U.S. federal prison of the Pakistani jihadi known as “Lady Al-Qa’eda” – true name, Aafia Siddiqui – that was but a pretext for a broader objective. Akram claimed that he and Siddiqui would be “going to Jannah (Muslim belief of heaven) after he sees her,” according to a statement from the FBI on Saturday night.

What neither Rabbi Charlie, his congregation members, nor apparently Local Law Enforcement Officers (LLEOs) and the FBI have understood was that, with these statements, Akram was reciting his belief in core Islamic doctrine. As Robert Spencer wrote in PJ Media, antisemitism is deeply rooted in the Qur’an itself, where it is written that “Jews are called the strongest of all people in enmity toward the Muslims (5:82); they fabricate things and falsely ascribe them to Allah (2:79; 3:75, 3:181); they disobey Allah and never observe his commands (5:13), and Muslims should wage war against them and subjugate them under Islamic hegemony (9:29), among many other slanders.” Further, as Spencer writes, the abduction of infidels as hostages is also sanctioned in the Qur’an (Sura 47, Verse 4), where it is stipulated that Muslims may choose to kill hostages, enslave them, ransom them, or “show favor” and release them. Similarly applicable is Sura 9, Verse 111, which offers the promise of paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah, in the act of jihad, thus becoming a shahid.

While it is a tremendous relief to know that Rabbi Charlie and all the other hostages got out of the situation alive and unharmed, their unfamiliarity with these Qur’anic passages may well have contributed to their unquestioning acceptance of interfaith dialogue associations that in retrospect may be seen as unwise. Indeed, as the synagogue’s Mission Statement declares, “we believe in interfaith inclusion” and “Tikkun Olam (Repair the World)”. Further, as the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue’s Facebook pages show, the Rabbi and his congregation had promoted interfaith events, including a 2 November 2019 and 6 November 2021 “Peace Together Walk”, with a photo of the walk beginning in front of the Colleyville Masjid, also known as the “Colleyville Association of Mid-Cities”. The Islamic Center of Southlake also was a participant. Unfortunately, each of these mosques has Muslim Brotherhood/jihadist connections, as documented by Understanding the Threat. Just one of those connections, for example, is the Imam Siraj Wahhaj, of the Brooklyn, NY Al-Taqwa Mosque, who was specifically named in a list of the unindicted co-conspirators at the 1993 World Trade Center bombing trial.

Now, to the Tablighi-Jama’at and Pakistani connections. As we now know, Akram entered the U.S. through JFK Airport in late December 2021 with his British passport on the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP)’s visa waiver program. He would have obtained that entry permit through the CBP’s online portal. Once waived through Customs at JFK, Akram was free to travel onward anywhere in the U.S. that he wished. It is unlikely that CBP is aware of what Tablighi Jama’at is or that Akram was affiliated with it. CBP should have, but possibly didn’t know either about Akram’s criminal record, as revealed by his brother. As Ilana Freedman documented in her excellent October 2016 monograph, “Gateway to Jihad: Tablighi Jama'at”, Tablighi Jama’at (TJ) is a global Islamic proselytizing organization with millions of followers in at least 80 countries. Although TJ is jihadist, it is not known to commit terrorism per se, but rather sends its missionaries to preach in mosques and Islamic Centers to strengthen the commitment of Muslim faithful to the essential doctrine and law (shariah) of Islam. Such dawah efforts, however, in many cases, serve as a conveyer belt or gateway to kinetic jihad, as was the case with Akram.

Akram himself, born in the United Kingdom (UK) of a family that hailed from the Jhelum district in the Pakistani Punjab, reportedly had traveled abroad on just such missions. According to reporting from the Hindustan Times, in the Blackburn, Lancashire area of England where Akram grew up, he “served as the head of the Rondell Street Islamic Centre in the London area, also known as Reza Masjid, where largely Muslims of Pakistani origin prayed. He also prayed at the Eldorado Masjid that was frequented by Gujarati Muslims in the region.” Two teenagers, possibly Akram’s sons, were arrested by UK Counterterrorism police in South Manchester on Sunday 16 Jan 22 and held for questioning.

As we can see, the connections to Pakistan are many. Nevertheless, it must be said that any possible connections to the Pakistani government or to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency are premature at this point. It is instructive, though, to recall the many Islamic terror attacks in which ISI has been involved. We may begin with the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, India, in which, according to the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) drawing on classified Indian government documents, the ISI was “heavily involved”. The following year, on 30 December 2009, according to declassified U.S. government documents, a Jordanian doctor reportedly recruited and dispatched by the ISI, detonated a suicide vest at the CIA’s Forward Operating Base Chapman in Khost, Afghanistan, killing seven and injuring an additional six. Then, on 2 December 2015, U.S.-born Syed Rizwan Farook and his Pakistani wife, Tashfeen Malik carried out a deadly shooting attack at Farook’s office Christmas party in San Bernardino, CA.  The couple had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State online and expressed support openly for Islamic jihad. Malik had attended college and the Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation women’s Islamic seminary in the Punjab before marrying Farook through an online arranged wedding that took place in Saudi Arabia in 2014.

Once again, while direct ISI involvement in this attack has not been publicly documented, the area of the Punjab where Malik studied is known as a stronghold of Deobandi jihadist groups, such as Lashkar-e Jangvi and Lashkar-e Taiba, both closely affiliated with the ISI. Then, in June 2016, Omar Mateen, who identified himself as “an Islamic soldier” in talks with a crisis negotiator, opened fire inside the Orlando, FL Pulse nightclub, killing 49 people and leaving 53 wounded. Mateen, age 29, was a U.S. citizen, born in Queens, NYC to Afghan immigrant parents. At some point, Mateen had attended the Islamic Center of Ft. Pierce, whose imam, Syed Shafeeq Rahman, quickly after the shooting, named Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, a local leader of the Hamas-related Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), as the mosque’s new spokesman. Rahman, also a General Practitioner medical doctor, obtained his medical degree from the Ayub Medical College in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Finally, a brief mention must be made about the 2018 cybersecurity breach involving multiple Members of Congress. The Pakistani Awan brothers, who were given access to highly sensitive government information without a background check, were permitted to work remotely – from Pakistan – up to several months at a time, according to investigative reporter Luke Rosiak.

In summary, then, there are far too many Pakistani connections to jihadist attacks and operations, spanning many years, to ignore. Nevertheless, those connections would appear to be rarely noted and only perfunctorily investigated.  Certainly, in this most recent attack on the Texas synagogue, there must have been an extensive support network that conducted the pre-attack casing and surveillance, recruited and prepared Akram, and arranged for his travel to and within the U.S., his lodging, and provision of the funding and knowledge for how to purchase a gun on the street. Clearly, the Muslim Brotherhood/CAIR network in and around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area has been vocal in campaigns to get the Pakistan-born convicted terrorist Aafia Siddiqui released from prison. Siddiqui not only tried to kill U.S. personnel in Afghanistan in 2008, leading to her conviction on terrorism charges in a 2010 Manhattan trial, but had been married to a nephew of Khaled Sheikh Mohammed, who remarked on her “obsession” with jihad. Educated at MIT, Siddiqui earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Brandeis University in 2001, before returning to southwest Asia in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. She is serving her sentence at the Federal Medical Center, Carswell, Ft. Worth, located some 24 miles from the Congregation Beth Israel. Note: This does not automatically mean that CAIR was involved in the synagogue attack, but rather that it shares Akram’s antisemitic animus and purpose in obtaining Siddiqui’s release from prison.

This analysis is offered in the interests of encouraging the situational awareness of faith communities, law enforcement, and national-level security agencies alike. Comments such as that made by FBI Special Agent in Charge Matt DeSarno at a press conference following the end of the hostage crisis attest to the critical need for such education. Although roundly criticized later, that evening, DeSarno said that the “hostage taker was specifically focused on an issue not directly connected to the Jewish community” and added that there was “no immediate indication that the man had was part of any broader plan”.

The fact that UK police and counterterrorism officials are assisting their U.S. counterparts in the investigation does indicate that the overall investigation extends internationally. At the same time, comments such as made by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Sunday 16 Jan 22, who said that it was “too soon to tell” if the Texas synagogue hostage situation was part of a “broader extremist threat” and that they were looking into "what this person's motives were and whether or not there are any further connections” demonstrate just how far we yet have to go.

Iranian Armed Forces Spokesman:

Israel ‘Must Be Eliminated’

Iranian Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier-General Abolfazl Shekarchi affirmed the United States is the Iranian republic’s top enemy while describing his country’s commitment to eliminate the Jewish state.

In his remarks, which were made during an interview that aired on Iranian TV last Wednesday, the senior spokesman referred to Israel as “the dog guarding America,” while deeming the United States “the number one enemy of the Iranian people.”

“[America] has brought its guard dog – the Zionist entity – to this region,” he said. “From time to time, this dog barks.”

Claiming that Israel “doesn’t have the capability” to attack Iran, Shekarchi warned that if the Jewish state “perpetrates any strategic mistake, it will be slapped in the face, and it will not be able to recover.”

“Our strategy towards the Zionist entity never changes: the removal of the Zionist entity,” he said. “Israel must be eliminated.”

Explaining Iran’s strategy “formulated” by former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini, the General Staff spokesman reiterated the need for Israel’s elimination.

“We have not fallen back, nor will we fall back, a single step from this strategy,” he said.

“The strategy of the resistance front is the annihilation of the Zionist entity,” he added.

Referring to the sending of Iran’s largest warship to the Atlantic Ocean, Shekarchi called the ship’s presence a “flexing of muscles, a show of force.”

“America’s sailors oppose the security of the region,” he said. “The sailors of the Islamic Republic are trying to provide security and peace in the region.”

“Iran is proud of sending the Makran warship, in order to confront all the schemes of America and its allies in the region,” he added.

Earlier this year, Shekarchi warned the “slightest mistake” on Israel’s part would compel his country to “level Tel Aviv and Haifa.”

Last year, Shekarchi warned the U.S. to consider the consequences of any naval challenge to the Islamic republic, saying, “The Americans must have seen that if they take the smallest act of aggression against the Islamic Republic’s territorial waters or the interests of our people, they would receive a slap harder than before.”

Iran, the largest state-sponsor of terrorism worldwide, claims its nuclear program is for energy purposes but world leaders, including the six nations that joined the 2015 deal to limit Iran’s nuclear weapons capacity, say enriching uranium may lead to Iran’s ability to quickly create a nuclear weapon.

The Obama-led nuclear deal, from which President Donald Trump withdrew in 2018, delineates an enrichment limit of 3.67 percent.

Iran has been accused of violating the agreement, with Tehran having since produced 10 kilograms of uranium enriched to near 60 percent, according to a report published on Monday by the Institute for Science and International Security, a US-based think tank.

The report concluded that Iran is on track to obtaining enough enriched uranium for a nuclear bomb within one month.

Will Cain: Kamala Harris ‘used’ on Biden ticket, been MIA ever since

Will Cain: Kamala Harris ‘used’ on Biden ticket, been MIA ever since

Will Cain predicts VP Harris will come out of hiding to face the fact she was used for votes

"The Five" speculated about Vice President Kamala Harris' whereabouts Wednesday, with co-host Will Cain suggesting she was "used" on the Biden presidential ticket, but is now a liability to the administration.

"If I’m Kamala Harris right now, I’m extremely offended because you have been used," he said. "They used you to pander to a voting base to get votes. They had a minority, they had a woman and now that they don’t need her, they have shelved her because her approval rating is -19."

Cain said that it’s not a secret when Harris is out front, she’s a "liability" to the administration even though she wasn’t a liability to Biden on the ticket.

"Kamala has a right to be very, very upset," he said. "But the Biden administration is in a very tough position. Do we admit that we used Kamala to get elected, or do we run her back out and hurt our numbers the way hers have plummeted?"

Co-host Shannon Bream added that Harris’ own presidential campaign never took off and she was forced to drop from the race.

"She was a great fit for this ticket," she said. "But remember during the primaries she never caught on fire. She wasn’t great in the primary debates. She wasn’t polling well, she couldn’t raise money… So while she was a good fit on the ticket, whether she can be a good leader and manage things well is a totally different question."

Bream pointed out that so far Harris has been assigned the "worst" job managing immigration at the southern border and will ultimately end up being a "professional tie-breaker" in the Senate.

Greg Gutfeld suggested Harris prefers to stay hidden while Biden’s presidency takes a tumble, and is currently being kept "behind the glass like an ax."

"They’re just waiting for the right time to break the glass and take her out," he said. "We really don’t know how bad she is but Democrats are going to assume it can’t be any worse than this."

How the Air Force Academy Makes the Disloyal Military Leaders of Tomorrow

How the Air Force Academy Makes the Disloyal Military Leaders of Tomorrow

Brainwashing the men and women who protect America to hate and destroy it.

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

In 2007, Mark Milley, then a mere colonel, was being interviewed about his experiences by Lynne Chandler Garcia. Now Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Milley is defending critical race theory while Garcia, an associate professor at the Air Force Academy, teaches it.

The woman described by one student as "the worst professor I've had" back when she was teaching logic for the philosophy department at a community college recently came forward with a Washington Post op-ed announcing her enthusiasm for injecting Marxism into the Air Force.

"I teach critical race theories to our nation’s future military leaders because it is vital that cadets understand the history of the racism that has shaped both foreign and domestic policy,” the historically illiterate logic teacher wrote.

Garcia, whose bio states that she holds “military secret clearance”, is promoting a Marxist ideology in her “Politics, American Government, and National Security" course. The curriculum lists her course, which implicitly attacks the existence of America, as a ”contributor to the development and assessment of the National Security of the American Republic”.

The Air Force Academy admitted that, “some elements from CRT canon are included in the course to encourage critical thinking" (another academic term for Marxism), but claimed that critical race theory is not "endorsed by the institution as institutional doctrine.”

It has however been endorsed every other way.

The disloyal military leaders of tomorrow are being shaped in the corrupted Academy of today.

As the BLM race riots devastated American cities, former superintendent Jay Silveria, who had been handpicked by former Air Force Chief of Staff David Goldfein to head the Academy, told students that it was "a time to acknowledge that disparities exist in our nation and within our Force, and that we must all be willing to talk about the realities of social injustice."

Outside the world of Marxist wokeness “disparities” are the result of individual choices, talents, dedication and so forth, and in America have nothing to do with racism, since institutional racism was outlawed by the Civil Rights Act almost 60 years ago.

Silveria was echoing his boss’ call for outrage over George Floyd’s drug overdose death and his claims that America was somehow racist. Along with his push for a review of racial disparities.

“We have to acknowledge we have racism, we have bias,” Silveria insisted. That’s one man’s ideologically shaped opinion, but do our military recruits have to have that drummed into them by a community college logic teacher who lacks any credentials for making pronouncements that defame the country her institution and its students are supposed to be defending?

Like much of the military, the Air Force Academy was subjected to "critical conversations" that Silvera claimed would help those like him who were "confused, angry and need to discuss what is going on in our nation."

In July, the academy's football team and coaches – more authorities on things they don’t know - released a video supporting Black Lives Matter.

“Educate yourself on the role that race plays in our history,” a white coach demanded. "It’s time for me to recognize my bias," another white coach confessed.

"Black lives have not been and are not treated as equals in our society," players and coaches angrily chanted the mantra of critical race theory racists. "It’s not enough for us to be not racist. It’s time to be anti-racist."  This sentence is ideological garbage straight out of Ibram X Kendi’s racist book How To Be An Anti-Racist, which according to the leftist Kendi is by agreeing with him. Literally.

Superintendent Silveria did not condemn the video in which Academy employees used an official social media account to push a partisan racist message. Instead he doubled down on critical race theory, falsely claiming that "across our Nation we are also grappling with an outpouring of emotion and outrage over systemic racism and social injustice." To repeat. systemic racism was outlawed by the 1964 Civil Rights Act. If it exists, it’s illegal and there would be lawsuits collecting damages. If it exists, where are those lawsuits?

Instead of disciplining the coaches involved, he issued a memo to improve "diversity and inclusion" and falsely claimed that "systemic racism exists in our society" affecting "identity groups" based "on race, ethnicity, age, gender", and "sexual orientation."

Systemic racism can’t and does not exist except in a program like “affirmative action” which had to get a pass from the Supreme Court precisely because it is illegal. And yet the leadership of the Air Force Academy insisted on brainwashing future military leaders with Marxist lies.

“The Black Lives Matter movement is important and I understand the purpose and the oppression behind the movement,” Silvera told the Journal of Character and Leadership Development.

The Center for Character and Leadership Development, once tasked with inculcating ethics and purpose, was leading those “critical conversations” about racism based on disparities that are the results of inequalities that exist in all racial groups. And of course the epidemic of anti-white racism, the most prominent form of ignorant bigotry abroad today.

This year, a professor at the Center wrote an article in the journal calling not for a "post-racial mindset", but an "inherently anti-racism mindset" where “anti-racism” means accepting delusional fantasies of America as “white supremacist” society, when the opposite is the case. In the real world eight racial groups “of color” have greater incomes than whites, which would be impossible in the fantasy world that the Air Force Academy now claims exists.

Another article by two professors contended that "American freedom... is unequal and differentiated, especially by race, ethnicity, gender" and urged that the military should not be an apolitical institution but that the role of military leaders should be to help soldiers "understand and confront'' political debates. Otherwise "American military leaders may miss an opportunity to contribute constructively to a national debate on these important matters."

The military serves its national purpose when it is a killing machine superior to that of our enemies. Turning it into a social experiment kaffeeklatsch undermines its only legitimate purpose and makes us vulnerable to our enemies whose societies are the most oppressive and racist on earth.

The military and its leaders are being reshaped to serve the malignant purposes of our most determined enemies.

The USAFA once encouraged cadets to see themselves as part of something larger. Now it undermines that unity and cohesion with sessions that promote the "Native American Experience" and the "African-American Experience" urging those who "identify" with the group to segregate themselves by race and complain about their status within the military.

The identity politics rot continued as Silvera stepped down and was replaced by Superintendent Richard M. Clark. Just as Goldfein had made way for Brown, the first black Air Force Chief of Staff, Clark would be the first black superintendent of the Air Force Academy.

Clark described his son going to a BLM protest and suggested that much of the Air Force might feel the same way. “There’s probably an anger that we don’t even know about," he suggested.

It was ugly and dangerously inappropriate language for a senior military leader to use.

Instead of using his appointment as evidence of the country’s incredible opportunities for those like him, the new superintendent was carrying on the tradition of trashing America as racist

Earlier this year, the Air Force Academy announced that it was opening a special Diversity and Inclusion Reading Room in the McDermott Library in response to Floyd’s drug overdose death and the accompanying Black Lives Matter riots. The reading room boasted a post-it board encouraging students to jot down what diversity meant to them.

The McDermott Library already offers copies of Ibram X. Kendi's How To Be An Anti-Racist and Stamped From the Beginning, along with Ta-Nehisi Coates' rabidly racist screed, Between The World And Me, which demonized the police officers and firefighters who died to rescue trapped Americans on 9/11 as "not human to me", and described black crime as entirely the fault of whites.

Also available is Race Course Against White Supremacy, a book by domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Ayers actually bombed the Pentagon, and described it in his memoir in these words:  “Everything was absolutely ideal. … The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.”

The book by a domestic terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and invented the term “white skin privilege” falsely claims that “the United States was conceived as a white supremacist nation” and “remains fundamentally dedicated to structures, institutions, and ideologies that construct and enforce white domination.”

The transformation of the Air Force Academy into just another radical campus has confused and angered many of its alumni who remember a very different institution. And it was different.

The United States Air Force Academy faculty had been made up exclusively of military officers for generations. That helped protect the USAFA from the academic decay of most colleges. But in 1994, a Democrat Congress forced the academy to integrate “civilian faculty”. Like the intellectually challenged and ideologically warped, Garcia.

While many students and faculty initially resisted the civilian academics, the radicals began to inject their leftist politics into the classroom and used them to sow dissension in the military ranks. Service branch academies, once fundamentally different from civilian colleges, are coming to resemble the campuses and curriculums of any left-wing college.

Air Force Academy courses like Class, Race, and Ethnicity in Society, and Gender, Sexuality, and Society, offer familiar narratives attacking Martin Luther King’s vision of a colorblind society as racist, and promoting the racist idea of skin privilege. And while it's not surprising to see identity politics embedded into English and Behavioral Science, the "socio-cultural" element in USAFA's History department is almost as bad with students being asked to analyze WW1 through the lenses of "colonialism, race" and "gender".

Race, gender, and class are a constant academic theme at USAFA. And race and gender are linked to leadership and accomplishment when it comes to ethics and values.

Lynne Chandler Garcia is not an outlier. She’s just one of the few civilian professors to go public outside Air Force circles about what’s really going on at the Air Force Academy.

Each Democrat administration has added another building block to the crisis that has decimated the integrity and allegiances of the Air Force Academy and much of the rest of the military.

The Clinton administration and its allies in Congress helped put the likes of Garcia and other leftist radicals in USAFA classrooms. The Academy hands out copies of Attitudes Aren't Free: Thinking Deeply about Diversity in the US Armed Forces, a text from the Obama administration, which promoted radical gender and racial ideas, including “privilege”, into the military.

Tragically, for our nation, the Biden administration is continuing Clinton and Obama’s destruction of the military.

The disloyal military leadership is composed of some careerists who have learned to tell Democrat administrations what they want to hear and incorporate all their social agendas.

But others are the products of a military academic system that is as broken and corrupt as our civilian colleges, which have become one-party Marxist institutions.

When Garcia boasts of teaching "critical race theories to our nation’s future military leaders”, she’s taking pride in weakening the defenses of a country she hates.

The disloyal military leaders of tomorrow will be the products of Garcia’s classes, and political indoctrination sessions like them.

Better military leadership begins with restoring the integrity of the Air Force Academy and all service branch academies. Our country is barely surviving woke government and woke corporations, it will not survive the disloyal military leaders of a woke military.
