South Africa: Farm attack, farmer hospitalised after assault and robbery, Groot Marico

A farm attack took place on 14 July 2021, at 20:00, on a farm in Groot Marico, in the North West Province of South Africa. Danie Steyn was attacked and assaulted by at least three attackers when he arrived at his home on the farm.
The attackers ransacked the home and then fled the scene with Steyn’s bakkie, phone, electrical equipment and a safe with firearms.
After the alarm was raised and all roleplayers responded the robbed bakkie was found abandoned 15km from Swartruggens on a sand road en route Steenbokfontein.
Steyn is currently in a hospital in Rustenburg for medical treatment of his injuries.
Police are investigating but there have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
